I don't know about the crazy nut ones, but I have the HPI ones and I like them.

One bad thing is they can make the entire truck flip over fowords, unless you have tires with bad grip, like mashers, then It'll just skid to a stop

The crazy nut ones are aluminum and the HPI are stainless steel. Aluminum will gum up the pads alot faster and wear quicker most likly.

I have HPI dual disc (loosen the thumb wheel adjustment) and anti-lock setting on fast on my futabe radio.
Full control and stops fast without doing a brakie.

The Savage brakes can so bee improved for the cost HPI charges for them. Instead of using cheap-o gasket material for brake pads, they could go with a larger diameter disc and semi-metallic material for the pads. Too bad HPI and even aftermarket guys dont do that

I bought the HPI dual disc brakes but haven't installed them yet. My LHS have me a piece of fuel tubing and told me to replace the spring with it and the brakes work much, much better.

I have them and I dont know why but I cant get as much braking power as you all can. I have had them for 1 gallon and have never done a brakie. I mean the braking is pretty strong like at full speed it stops in about 20 feet on full break but I cant get the tires to lock up or truck to flip over. IMO I think they are good brakes considering I got them for $12 and im on a budget

Make sure u tighten the screw on the throttle linkage. This will give you more braking power.

Everthing is as tight as can be without creating brake drag.

Havent read the thread but to increase brake power by a lot, unscrew the brake power screw on the brake linkage, remove the spring, cut a peice of fuel tube out (about 1 inch) and put that thru the linkage, put the spring on again and put the screw back on.
Cant really explain that well, a pic would show what i mean but the fuel tube works with the spring and pulls the brakes tighter.

Hey, I have a quick question about the DD brakes; what is the diameter of the brake discs? If they are larger than 1.5", I will not be able to use them since they'll rub against the clutchbell. Thanks.

Kurt i already did that mod, as I said, everything is installed correctly and is screwed in as tight as can be without having brake drag. Pads are in good shape, i cleaned them 10 tanks ago. The servo is weak and doesnt have a large enough radius, i might upgrade to spectrum or futaba pk/pm later on wiht high torque servos later on Thats only if they open a track here for the summer.
