Default Savage owners with pullstart: Did ur fuel tank break while priming?

Hello,

I just broke my 2nd tank being out maybe the 5. time with my savy X SS, again it broke during priming through the pullstart. The truck is really tough but the fueltank is softer than baby skin....
Lucky enough I immedialtely ordered 2 the last time (one for 12$ from the US, the other from my lhs for 26$, and the LHS took longer!).

Am I doing something wrong?

Instead of priming the engine using the pullstart, you can just BLOW into the PRESSURE LINE. This will also help extend the life of the One-Way Bearing inside the engine.

Yeah just do what SpikeX says, thats what i do, it also takes out any bubbles, if there are any, in the fuel line. Or just get a roto start

Thanks for the idea, but I decided to get the Rotostart, though the hassle with the pullstart is somehow nice... But if I break a fuel tank every time
So I'm the only hard puller (or stupid)!

Though once started the first time, it starts EVERY time right away, my Axial was being a bit *****y yesterday at the beginning of the second day of break-in..

What do you mean blow into the pressure line?? Where do you unhook it and blow in to??(no crude jokes here please..)

Unhook it from the pipe and blow, it helps if you also unhook the fuel line from the hsn but you dont have to.

Thanks - what I was doing stupid was loosening the glow plug, getting it running, and running it around having forgotten to tighten it back up.. Then I tightened it back up when it was already hot. Hope I didn't screw up the engine-lid-piece or whatever it's called. Did exactly that on my 25 screwing with the GP when the engine was hot..
