I'm also working on a similar project, but made specifically for drag racing. I call it the Savage XDrag...

RE: ON ROAD SAVAGE
I'll post some pics when there is more to see.
So far, I have only done the following to it (since the first pictures):
- Added Hitec HS-645MG Steering and Throttle Servos
- Added a Spektrum DX3.0
- Converted it to 2WD (Saving 207g [4%] of weight)
- Removed The TRS
I'm planning to lower it using the fuel tubing stops in the shocks soon. I also have a bunch of parts arriving shortly, and I'm working on some of the Carbon Fibre Parts for it...

kabayan!!!, yes sioxie...RC MT is fast becoming a growing hobby...really fast as in the lhs here that carries hpi products always run out of stocks because of the fast turnover of their sales...anyway, there is a new category of rc mt enthusiast that is becoming more popular everyday, the on-road MT... this month we might be having a drag race evnt for mt's, it will be held at "the fort"...everyone is excited to join..

RE: ON ROAD SAVAGE
damn all of those trucks are PIMP. How about you guys post a parts list for all the other ones here wanting to get a set up like that. I might have to get a newer savage to achive anything like that since my 25 ss is prettymuch outdated Please post a parts list for these setups.

I don't race it so perhaps in the heat of battle they might make a diff.

you just have to cut a silicon fuel tubing at your desired lenght and how much you want it low and insert it at your shock shaft before you put it inside the shock body that will act as an internal limiter to yor shock by hampering your shaft from reaching its max travel. im doing mine right now, will post pics when im done....

RE: ON ROAD SAVAGE
man, do you guys have really rough roads or what
maybe an easier way to limit your suspension travel so that you can use stiffer springs without jacking the whole truck up, is to stack pistons beneath the working piston , like im assuming that the pistons are held onto the shaft by e-clips or something
you may not notice much roll when your driving it from afar, but sway bars really do make a difference, the more onroad-like handling is going to be way more obvious than any slight little bit of roll you can see in corners...

RE: ON ROAD SAVAGE
our next on road savage race will be the first picture, and the second is the track that we might use:
please give your inputs on the suspension, shock oil weight, springs, cb/spur, etc, that might be feasible on this kind of racing condition.
