Default question on steering on Savage X...

When your savage is sitting on the pavement can your servo move the wheels all the way to the left and/or right? I am having problem my mine and I am using the HS-5955TG servo and my wheels barely move. I wonder if there is some incompatibility with the RX and the digital servos. I have tried different radios (TX and RX) but that did not help. Any recommendation on what to try next. Thanks.

Are you using a hump pack? What type of tires on what kind of floor are you trying this with?

I was using the 1500mAh hump pack. I even tried new alkaline as well and this is on concrete pavement or grass.

The humppack would be stronger than the alkalines. Was it fully charged? With that combination it should turn the wheels without any problems. Maybe your cam steering in on to loose, it should be between 4 and 6mm from the botom. Check that and get back to us.

-Someguy- Can you point me to which part you are talking about? I am looking at the instructions on HPI pag and I do not know which part you are refering to. BTW, I did put this kit together myself and do not recall. Thanks.

This is the part im talking about

You can tighten the spring to make it more responsive but with plastic gear servos its a max of 4mm or you can easily strip the gears in the servo. If its a metal gear then you can go up to 6mm. Considering you have titanium gears then you should be good with a 6mm gap and should notice a big difference.
