Default RE: fuel line

Longer line can make the engine harder to prime because the fuel has farther to go.
Short fuel line, if it's wrapped around the heat can cause the fuel to preheat, which can cause problems.
Longer fuel line will give the truck longer run times when it flips in a wreck which gives you longer to right the truck.
Longer line can cause tuning issues if there is poor exhaust preasure to preasurize the tank - doesn't hapen too often though.

I usually run my fuel line about 1' or so long and coil any excess and zip tie it to the roll bar or something.

Longer is usaully better. Just keep it away from hot parts like the cooling head, pipe, etc.

Well just wrap it round your roll bar or something, just make sure it isn't actualy touching the hot parts
