I've used the Venom 1200mAh hump pack twice now and they work great. Powerful and last quite a long time. The HPI 308 battery level indicator is also a good upgrade with the hump pack.

If you want rechargeable for your transmitter...just buy (8) Energizer 2500mAh AA batteries and be done with it. I've done this as well and love it.

Ditto mazda........ Those packs work flawless and a long time for the price. My 1200 pack lasts longer then I've played with the truck in one day. Since there are 2 of them i alwayse have another ready to go.

I've not seen any 5cell packs that are over the 1500 rating. Maybe I've not looked hard enough.

I have an LRP 1100mah pack and that works good, i got this charger that charges the controller ( little charger fits in the back of my JR XS3 with its rechargeables) and this charger charges the hump pack as well, and can do both at the same time.

ok...so how long would [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&W=001242108&I=OFNP1214&P=K]This[/link] charge [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&W=001242108&I=HPIM2012&P=K]This[/link]?
How long does a 1200 mAh last ( in hours)
and how long does it last till it's totally unuseable (in years)
Is the Hpi hump pack even a good choice?
Also...here is the [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXNMD7&P=ML]More than 1500mAh pack[/link] that u thought didn't exist

10 hours give-or-take from flat to full charge
impossable to put a number to - but it should last you a good day of driving if not two
impossable to put a number to - I've got packs that are 4 y/o and still going strong but lots of different things can kill a battery
no experence with it but why not? most of hpi's stuff is good
don't be so smug - if you knew everything there was available/to know you wouldn't be asking these questions

I made a pack from 5 fullsize 1800 mah AA:s. I fits nice in the box on my X after some modifications to the lid. I only made it to try it out, but it works so good that a new one from some 2700 mah ones will be made. I maybe will use the new generation of nimh-cells due to their better function in cold temperatures. It´s cold here in the winter.

I have a "brand x" 1100 mah hump pack as secondary unit. Works OK.

The easiest thing to dp for the tx is to just buy 8 AA rechargable batteries and install them into the existing battery holder. You can find them in 2500mah size for not a lot of money (+/- $15 in the states). That will give you a nominal voltage of 9.6v which will work fine. I have done this with all my radios and it works great. If you want the voltage to be higher (some people do) then you can often mod the existing battery holder to accept 9 batteries, mwhich brings you to 10.8v. Or you could buy 10, 2/3 AA batteries (for 12v) and solder them togeather and that will usually fit where the stock battery holder fits.

could i make a hump pack out of the batteries?
all the batteries connected with a wire in the right way and the some kind of wire comes out of the transmitter battery holder and goes into some hole or something?
or would it be tooooo complicated?
if i'd buy rechargeable batteries then i would also need good chargers
those might cost alot
if i'd have a hump pack i could only get 1 loader

This is what I've done for the transmitter and have had no problems except when I tried to peak charge my radio set, and burned a crystal out because of to much power, quick fix tho just had to buy a new crystal. So never peak charge your radio gear. Here ya go:

Also the HPI Humpback 1200mah is excellect choice!!

i have the same 2 humpacks of 1100 MAH that you can find here www.cheapbatterypacks.com

for the charger i have dynamite and it takes less than 15 min to fully charge 1 battery. I love it.

hell, if you wanna go nuts, get the 10,000 Mah 6V one, and it last you more than 2 full gallons of fuel if you do it non stop. LOL

But you cant mount the battery inside the battery box though[&:]
