Well. You lose time when you shift, and a 1 speed has less rotating mass and is lighter. A muggy would win hands down.

HAH! i love listening to u guys say that shifting takes time. thats the most incorrect statemnt ive heard since ive been in this hobby. The way these things shift is by a little hook clinking onto another gear and thus INSTANTLY engaging it. its like saying it takes time for a car to impact a wall. it just impacts it and thats it. thats how it works. so please dont say that agian!

OK. A 2 speed has more rotating mass, and therefor is less efficiant than a 1 speed. Also, a 1 speed is more reliable

That's also incorrect. It seems you're arguing just for the sake of it.

So what you're saying here is that the few ounces of weight for the gearing *totally* negates the added speed from gearing?! [sm=confused.gif]

So my 3-speed would be even worse?

yeah sure it can, but thats the problem, it needs ot be as high as our 2nd gear in order to reach that speed, so just imagine ur truck being stuck in 2nd gear the whole time. acceleration would suck wouldnt it

Revo 3.3 wins this match fellas, then the Savage. LST2 is slow. My friend has one and his Aftershock is faster. I have the Revo 3.3 and the Savage 4.6 they are both pretty close. Warhead is super slow, I have that one too, darn.

yeah ur right, the revo is probably the fastest. thats what i said as well. and just like i said, the Savage would be really close as well. But the LST2 isnt that slow though. They are pretty fast as well, the 427 engine is quite powerfull, and even though its not quite as fast as the others, i think if its probably tuned itll be quite fast as well. But all the rest are defietly no-nos. especialy not a muggy [sm=tongue_smile.gif][sm=lol.gif]

in regards to shifting on the savage you can change the shift time making it earlier or later i don't know about other cars but the savage can

revo...its a small block but its the lightest of them all. if you really think the GST makes 5 HP youve been sniffing too much nitro. yes we all know thats what CEN claims but we also know that the manufactors HP ratings are all crap. in reality it probably produces less then 3. and it wieghs in close to 15 pounds. its a beast, but not the fastest.

Okay. I'm not saying the weight of a 1 speed is better. I'm saying that there is less rotating mass. Let me know if im going too fast for you here, even tho i'm in 7th grade... rotating mass is the weight and size of all the 2 speed gears in the tranny, and as they start to move, it takes A LOT more energy to move a whole set of 2 speed gears rather than 1. Also, my muggy with a ported mach 427 will beat any savage with a f/k 4.6. Even with a 3 speed.

Yes they are extremely fast. And the drivetrain is more reliable than any mt with a transmission
