Throttle/servo question
Hey guys, on my Savage 25 when I let off the throttle the idle doesnt reset (the carb stays half-way open) and doesnt reset to idle until I hit the brakes. I took the horns off the servo and reset them, but it didnt help. The servo is still good. Any ideas?

RE: Throttle/servo question
its probably the brass clip binding. I had the same problem it eventually fixed itself. Ive got the ofna throttle linkage sitting around waiting to go on now though.

RE: Throttle/servo question
I must have lost it since I last dove it because there is no spring on it now. Will replace that and then it should be good to go!
EDIT: What brass clip?

Do the ofna throttle linkage mod, the stock throttle linkage sucks. Ofna linkage is easy to set up, and when done correctly, it works wonders

RE: Throttle/servo question
Well, I tried a new return spring and a rubber band, neither worked. I am ordering the ofna linkage, do you think it will fix my problem or does it sound like a servo issue?

RE: Throttle/servo question
Well, I did the modification and it didn't help. It seems like there might be an issue with the little thing by the fuel tank because the linkage arm will warp when I push the throttle, but the carb barely opens. What do you think? Sould I go buy an new one of these? (I circled what I think might be the problem)

I've had that problem. On mine the screw was just too tight on that "little thing by the fuel tank". Loosen it a bit and see if it helps.

RE: Throttle/servo question
You can throw it in my trash.... or try these,
Disconnect the linkage from the carb and try it with your remote. Does it return?
Try moving the carb with your fingers while disconnected from the linkage.
Try using the servo with the linkage disconnected from the servo. Does it act normal?
Try moving the linkage with it disconnected from the servo and carb.
Make sure your carb isn't cocked a little to the side, make sure the linkage pulls the carb straight.

RE: Throttle/servo question
The carb is straight, the carb moves easily when I move it with my fingers. The servo acts normal when there is no linkage attached.
I'm really at a loss. I'm about to just drop it off at the hobby shop and let them deal with it.

RE: Throttle/servo question
Attatch the linkage to the carb and move it with your fingers at the servo end. Let your fingers be the servo. Does it work or does it bind?

RE: Throttle/servo question
I'm in Houston. Thanks though.
I put it back to stock basically and It still does it (with all new parts) Does anyone know the part number for the aluminum steering crank?
EDIT: I dont think it's the servo since it returns to neutral when I left off the throttle, the crank by the fuel tank just doesn't come all the way back.

RE: Throttle/servo question
I think I got it figured out and set up correctly, but if it does it again I'll try to post a video.
Oh, and it's running again. lol Oddly enough it was my fault. [X(]

RE: Throttle/servo question
I'm in Huntsville TX about an hour out of Houston (if you need some help, I know how much of a pain fixing these things can be).
I am thinking of hosting a Huntsville bash so look for the thread when it starts to get warmer.
