Pipe suggestion for Sure Fire .32
Found a great deal on a Sure Fire .32 that I couldn't pass on.
Question is...what's a good muffler selection for this engine? The engine has monstrous bottom-end and great mid-range as well...think a top-end muffler would do?
BTW, my budget doesn't account for a $110 Buku muffler.

RE: Pipe suggestion for Sure Fire .32
Well I scored that SureFire 32R for $150 and will be getting it within the next few days.
I'm going to try it out with the stock HPI polished pipe first...and then with the Tsais header - Dynamite 053 pipe setup I have on my X SS.
We shall see what the difference is between those (2).

I prefer a high-winder...so I'm thinking of going with something smaller when my Axial .28 finally croaks.

I think the Sunfire and the Axial 32 are the same engines, just lke the Axial 28 and the Hpi 4.6 are the same. I hope yours serves you as good as my Axial has me. I have two Axial 32 engines, the first one started easy, made great power at any rpm and has been trouble free, several gallons now and still doing a great job.... The second one was blessed with a badly leaking front bearing and could not be tuned. I replaced the bearing, but have not put it back in a truck yet. I have been too busy working on the Picco 28s. RE: Pipe suggestion for Sure Fire .32
Well the SureFire 32 and Axial 32 are the same basic engine inside of the same crankcase. The new SureFire 32R has a totally different piston/sleeve with additional port-work done. The original SureFire and Axial have nearly identical dyno plots with the SureFire making torque a bit earlier and holding out a bit longer.
As a side note...I just paid Rick Brake for the mods on the SureFire 32R. Man, I can't *WAIT* to see how that engine is gonna run! woo hoo [sm=what_smile.gif]
