Savage X SS sometimes locks up or won't roll backwards
My Savage X SS has a problem sometimes the truck locks up and won't move forward and sometimes it will move forward but it won't roll backwards.
Its like the wheels are locked when either problem happens.
Has anyone seen this issue and know what might be causing the it and if so how do I fix it.

if it rolls forward fine, and not backward, your gear mesh is probably set too tight. when you roll the truck forward, the one way bearing in the transmission doesn't turn the spur/clutchbell, but when you roll it backwards, it does.

if this issue comes up after you've ran the truck and some of the symtoms are: not rolling freely backward, and the spur does not spin freely. then it's probly your clucht bell. in the instructions for setting up the clutch assembly. it states that you should use five spacer washers between the clutch bell and the retainer screw. try takeing one or two spacer washers out and see if the clutch bell is spining freely. if it does then you should be set to go.

Does the XSS come with diff shims? maybe it's too tight? Tryin to think of something...this question's been bugging me for a couple days

I won't be able to pull the tranny out untill this weekend.
It's been doing this off and on since I put it together.
This thing only has 4 tanks run thru it.
