i'm back...... with brakes
well after taking some time off from rc I'm back and not with a bang, but i did get my brake parts me and someguy, mazdab2600 for getting the pars list together for me.
this is what i got:
Hot Bodies Vented Metal Brake Rotors w/Pad Savage 31.99
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXDVK6
HPI Flange Pipe 3x6x10mm Savage X (4) 2.89
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXPLW3
Hot Bodies Heavy Duty Steel Disk Brake Hub Savage 9.29
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFWS2
HPI Brake Cam/Piston Set Savage 21 3.89
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXDLG7
HPI Brake Plate/Pad Set Savage 5.79
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXGWY4
so total is 53.89 for brakes, but i also got
RPM Center Skid/Protector Plate Black Savage X 13.79
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXNXF7
for extra insurance to keep the brakes protected.
now for the pics
-------------------------
i have tested them out with both the axial and the picco which is now stage2 and with both motors it is sick with stopping power, i put 4 tanks with both motors to see how it would stand up and all i can say is wow.. if your willing to drop 50 on the brakes then its well worth it IMO.

I have this setup, it came on a truck i bought off ebay and its great. Better than the HPI dual and without the middle piece theres no worry about wearing anything down with time.

Wouldnt it be better with a thicker disc or another pad?

Why have 2 discs with no pad in the middle?
Wouldnt it be better with a thicker disc or another pad?

Now python...is that how the instructions say to assemble it, or just how you wanted to do it?
Honestly I think the single fiber disc brake on my S-25 works better than the dual stainless brake setup on my X SS. The S-25 is much older and still on the original brakes. My X SS has 1 gallon on the dual stainless brakes and they're dead. Pretty long time, but I'm no longer impressed.

RE: i'm back...... with brakes
yea that's how it tells you...
i tired the fiber, i tried the single maxx fiber, the stock stainless..... these out of them all are the next best thing to me, from making my own mount to make it have brakes front and rear.
also if u take a good look at pic here
the cut out on the disks go face to face giving it that venting, so they stay nice and cool.

Nice to see you back. I was wondering where you went. Did you get bored or just have other stuff to do?
