RE: Mid tank Mod
ORIGINAL: BANKRUPTER
I have raced both and on the track the NON- EXT's are faster.Off the track I say EXT all the way By almost full second on some tracks. But the rest of the set up comes into play as well. Just my experience with them, The savage does not need a stretch to race it needs to be lowered and its roll center changed to be fast. I can slap REVOs all day with my set up. I race 3 of them at my track with the RPM strech and full arms ect. They are better not streched as well. I always wanted one till I raced w/them. Leave out the t-maxx no chance no way.. This thread is about mid tank mods Lets not do this. I like dj dont mess up this thread with traxass stuff. We are not even thinking about them here... I answered as to why I said that, but lets stay on topic for him here...

Why would you possibly say that? An easier to drive truck is nearly always faster...that's why Traxxas extended their Revo and T-Maxx.

Dont go with the EXT's if you racing.. Sweet for a bash rig though...

Look, I only mentioned those two trucks because they were extended for a reason. I am NOT pushing Traxxas in any way, believe me. [&:]

LOL Tmaxx is why I took a year off before I bought my 3 Savys. I love my Savys now I'm going nutz with them. I would buy a redcat racing before anything traxxas imo

BTW, I forgot to mention that if you decide to keep your stock TVPs, and don't use the CEN box, then BANKRUPTER's mod using the stock radio box would be the easiest way for sure...

-You might as well get the matching engine mount plate at this point. Not absolutely neccessary, but you'll wish you had it later (pretty...)
-Again, if you're mounting the RPM box outside the chassis, you don't have to use the Mugen tank. It's almost too long for the servo plate, and the tank mounts included in the FLM kit won't fit it. I ended up buying a Mugen tank on Ebay because it came with the mounts, filter, etc. (pulled from a kit I guess). Not that the Mugen tank won't work, but other than the narrowness, it has no advantage over easier-to-fit tanks like the Hellfire or Ofna.
-Get the skid plate...you'll thank yourself later when you see how low the brake discs sit with this chassis.
