Default Robinson Racing Spur and clutch bell problem.

I put my new robinson racing steel 46t spur gear and my new 17t robinson racing clutch bell on my Savage X and the Spur gear just bearly rubs on the bell. What can i do to fix this problem, Thanks. btw its a savage x 4.6

Hmm.. that ratio should fit fine. I would check the spur and bell by physically counting the teeth, just to make sure they're the ones you paid for.

I think he has the problem of the face of the spur gear rubbing the face of the bell and not the mesh problem. Is that what you were saying? BB

If that's the case, you need to move your flywheel back towards the engine more. You can see if you can find a shorter flywheel collet, or maybe you could file yours down about 1mm or so. I had to do this when I installed a new Ofna 17t bell, it was rubbing my spur as well. Also, I shimmed my clutch bell as close as possible to my flywheel to give more room.

Reshim the CB and/or flywheel. That is after you make sure the spur is seated properly. Check the simple stuff first.
