Default savage vs t-maxx vs mgt

I want a good race/bash truck which would be the best bet Savage x 4.6, T-maxx 4908, or mgt 4.6 - 8.0. I want something fast can handle well and reliable (and all the other things found in a good racer)

LST will out handle a savage from what i've read and is pretty durable, but a savage would be my next choice since you are racing or bashing, the t-maxx is a def no no on racing, i woulda expected to see a revo on the list, as for the mgt, not really a race truck but good basher from what i've read...

i still don't know how to show the original owner, can someone help me with this? lol

i agree. i have a savage and a t-maxx and my savage is bone stock and rarely breaks. believe it or not, it is also MUCH faster than a t-maxx or a mgt. (it's about even with the 8.0)

my t-maxx has a total of over $1000 dollars into it and all those hop-up parts are for durability. none are for show. my savage will take more beating than my t-maxx any day. my rustler vxl on the other hand, might as well be made of glass. i broke it going 5mph over a jump and getting about a foot of air. broke a castor block. (again)

i've broken my rustler almost every single time i've run it. i must have fixed it over 100 times. it's just not a basher. that's why i'm selling it or trading for a good brushless 1/18 truck

If you are racing, the LST2 and Revo are pretty much your only options (without spending a small fortune).

what are you talking about? a savage is very easily converted into one of the best racers. all you need to do is get some good hpi nubz tires or proline bowtires and lower the ride height some. for a monster truck, savages are very fast when tuned and set up right.

Set up properly a Savage is a very good racer. When my Savage was close to stock I beat more then one Revo on the track. Since I have put a lot into it to make it a top racer. [X(]

are you a idiot?

this is like going into a holden dealer and asking the CEO if you should get a ford, mazda, or a holden.

You post this question in the HPI truck forum? Of course you'll get more "Savage all the way!" responses. It'll do the same in each of the other forums for their corresponding trucks. This is a question that's better asked at the track(s) you'll be racing, not on a worldwide forum.

get a tmaxx. I have a Tmaxx 4908 and a savage xl and the savage breaks more than my tmaxx. And parts for a tmaxx you can get everywhere.

Trust me the new tmaxx is durable. Listen to people who actually have experience with both or own both.

Okay, it's durable, I agree completely with that statement, but is it good enough to win races? Not without quite a bit of upgrading.

It can win, but you do need a good amount of money to race. Better motor, radio, shocks atleast.
Frankly I used monster trucks for hard bashing and my truggy for racing.
