New Radio
So as of now I have 3 trucks and I am working on getting the 4th. I think its time to update my radio system. I don't know which one yet but I know it will be a multiple vehicle programmable. Right now I run the rtr ones that came with the trucks So my question is do you use the same type of receiver in all the trucks with different crystal frequency and program the transceiver with the different frequency's and use just one transmitter for as many trucks/cars that you have? Is that the way it works? [sm=shades_smile.gif]

RE: New Radio
well.... radio's cost $ and aren't cheap, i'd look into a good 2.4ghz such as the airtronics MX3 2.4ghz modle tho unless you love changing out recievers, you should get 2 or 3 recievers or more, depends on how often you run each vehicle and how much you wanna change um out or a good FM system i just got a MX 3 and love it, tho i need some more revcievers and you'll have to make sure you get the right range, high and low.... and they run about 60 each for cheaper ones.... but get a good computer radio you won't regret it

How much do you want to spend? I'd just got an Airtronics M11 with spektrum 2.4 built in and I personally love it. Check my flux thread to see it if you want. I also have a Spektrum dx2.0 and it feels so cheap in comparison.

I was thinking this one http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&P=SM&I=LXPZT7 So with a computer one like this you don't need crystals ? Receivers are 90 bucks though [sm=cry_smile.gif]

Thanks but the one I was asking about is the "s" it's suposed to have a telemetry system that gives you rpm, mph and temp on your Tx. was just curious if it all worked (rpm) or if people had tried it. Almost too late because I already picked it up lol, I was just looking for info.

Heck, forget Spektrum (been there, done that), get Futaba! A Futaba 3PKS is great (if you can afford one) or if you can find the older 3PK (non-"S"), you can slap on the Futaba 2.4GHz module on it an that radio has a 10 model memory!

RE: New Radio
I bought one of these for my Thunder Tiger EK4, I have quit running that truck and transplanted it into a Savage. I was lucky and picked up a second RX and have that one in one of my MBX5Ts. [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLZP2&P=SM]Synthesized FM 75 3PM-FS[/link].... it was and still is pricey, works great.
After much prodding from my buddies who cannot wait to spend my money, I bought a [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXSNN9&P=SM]3PKS 2.4 FASST[/link] and it is much easier to program. I have its sole RX in a MBX5T. The nice thing about the Savages is that it takes no time to move the RX, still glued to the RX tab from truck to truck. Glen

I also bought a 2.4GHz FAAST Futaba 3PM. no more glitching and a built in failsafe. I have had one runaway and did not like it at all.
