What 40-50.00 is too much? Have you seen what some roll cages go for. I think these are on the lower side. I think thats very reasonable.

Well, for those of us with just one XL, that's not too bad.

For those with a fleet of them.... good luck!

I like the black one. My XL came with what looks like a plastic one in the extra parts bag.

they have these for the losi lst series and the losi people love them. according to them, they are lightweight, very durable and make body shells last much longer.

meh...for $50+ I'd rather have a sturdy plastic one and not worry about scratching up the pretty aluminum.

Looks like they have a center skid plate to offer as well. $29.90 Although I'm still thinking about doing one myself

I have the new era roll bar and man that thing is very tough. I had the plastic one that came with the truck. Had it for a cuople of weeks then i had a bad landing, 5 foot drop off a ramp and straight onto its back, the impact was so great that the engine moved, i looked closely and saw my engine block broken and my engine plate cracked.

Since I got the new era roll cage and im more confident going off ramps and lauching the truck 15-20 feet up in the air. I know its expensive but its worth the money.

New era roll cage: $50

seeing the faces of your buddies after your truck goes aiborne 20 feet and gets a bad landing ...and yet keeps on bashing........:PRICELESS!!!!!!!!

The RPM skid plate for the X works on the XL, just about 1-2 inches short, and it still covers up the transmission and brakes, so the vitals are protected.

Those New Era cages are fairly durable, but they still bend. Plastic is the way to go. For the money you spend on the New Era stuff, you could buy one of 5AVAG3's nylon cages, and have a MUCH stronger setup. Bracing the stock nylon cage is another better option.
