Now if we could just figure out how to get this darn thing from wheeling all the time, I would be all set.
I miss the days of my Mayhem ST when I could hammer on the engine all I wanted and she would just rip. That thing would roast all 4 tires on dry pavement no problem. I mean, it would'nt smoke'em but it would turn them over no problem.\
I love the flux, but with all the power, it's almost no useable. Kinda makes me wonder what a BL revo drives like.
But I still love the flux!

Can anyone post some screen shots of what they have their castle link set at? I would like a good mixture of power and control.

RE: THE Official HPI Savage Flux-HP Thread
I just got theSpectrumDX3R in and went to start plugging it up... and came across a few awkward things for a noobie:
1) Why is the stock Flux wires to large to plug into the receiver? Do I need to cut off the tabs on the side to make it work?
2) Why did they include a 4 cell rectangle battery pack??? This can't even fit in the transmitter.
3) Why did they include a switch? Do I need to use this or will it work like the stock Flux receiver and just turn on when I turn on the ESC?

RE: THE Official HPI Savage Flux-HP Thread
Hey guys... i just converted my savage flux to a XL flux. I am debating if I should stick with the 17mm hubs or go for the 23mm to run 40 series wheels. If i go 23mm should i just get the new adapters with extension or without? I am thinking that adding couple inches on the side might make it more prone to breakage. Your opinions sincerely appreciated.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Either way, be sure to gear down your pinion with those 40' series or your gonna overwork and possibly smoke your ESC and or lipo's from that extra weight.

What pinion would you recommend for 40 series wheels? Ialso plan on changing out the diffs to bulletproof ones if that matters.

RE: THE Official HPI Savage Flux-HP Thread
stock flux axles, 1/2 offset rulux rims, badlands MT. The truck improved a great deal, and very noticeable improvement in traction and cornering with this setup. Best combo I have ever used on a big monster. They don't weigh that much either as a combo.. at only 265g each wheel and tire... to me that's great. The chassis balance cures whatever problems are left from the (sad) stock tires and weight balance on the stock chassis. The truck can take FULL throttle off of the line and stay straight and on the ground. Doing this with badlands will take the lawn completely off in 4 places! FUN!
