This kid can jump! Not only that, he knows how to drive his truck on two tires only.....and I don't mean the back two or the front two.
To most people a pile of mulch is just a pile of mulch, but if you have a Savage you see an opportunity

Yeah with his 18/47 gearing that's the fastest I've seen a Savage run in person. He could out run me with an almost fully broken in LRP .30 with 17/47 but that isn't any surprise.
Hey Tom, baby is getting a new pair of aluminum shoes and an 18 tooth clutch bell. Then it's gonna be on!!

Too high of a jump for me. Ill stick to the small jumps where i get 4 or 5 feet of air in grass, that way when i land it wrong, it doesent seem so painful

nice video. cool balancing act on 2 wheels.
What broke on the bad landing that caused the throttle to open up like that?
Also what weight shock oil and springs are you running to handle those jumps?

Hey thanks for the comments guys, you've only seen about 7% of the action that we did, we were all beating on our trucks for 5 hours lol.. My truck was honestly running like crap cause the carb fell off earlier, and I had trouble tuning it- might be an air leak. I must have jumped that mulch pile maybe 40 times that day and landed most of them, but that last one was painful. I managed to completely tear the body off the rear end, and when I landed that jump- well the FLM engine plate is bent (second one already!!!), the rear diff sounds shredded, and various other things going on. You guys should have seen how we kept my truck running, an hour before we finished, my truck popped the left rear shock off and I lost my spacer that I used to retain the shock. So I was stealing screws from my Ariancio/ my radio box which all fell out and I eventually took one from my bumper which lasted the rest of the day. All of my tires became unglued and I ran it by adding CA glue as they started coming apart lol, in the end the whole thing was wobbling. I just ran it to the grave, it'll be a fun clean up. We have tons of footage, my bro managed to get some pics of a couple of sick jumps that were easily 2X in height.
Thanks for putting the vid up shoestring, it was tons of fun and I'm definitely up for next time after I rebuild the truck.
Parts list is looking like:
Innovated R/C 6MM front extended TVPs
Dynamite Max Life clutch shoes
Probably a new rear end- possibly upgrade to XL spec outdrives/ bones/ etc.
17mm hexes
new rollbar
Might be some more stuff as I take this truck apart- the engine might be toast.
Oh, and as for the setup I'm running-
XTM Mammoth ST Shocks- Stock WT (No idea how much).
Shock towers are from Fullforce R/C and very beefy.
The shocks are very durable- I expected them to break a while ago, but they keep on coming. I've had them for 2 years I believe and got the shocks for $15 shipped and the towers for $40. Thinking about getting HPI Big bores when these give out cause these are a wee bit short on length for me.
As for what gave out, I think that when the engine plate gave out, the the throttle as pulled open by the lever and the engine was disconnected from the tranny so it was just revving. This is all speculation, but I'll tear into the truck tomorrow possibly.

haha..... Tom hates his savage so he treats it like a step child. Why did you need to completely screw it up after I left? I finally got my Jammins biatch!

Well, you didn't want to stick around. I'll do anything in front of a video camera, lol...
The fact is that that last landing would have been normal if I was running the X cage or a proper body, but oh well... Speaking of that, the center piece of my roll bar fell off so it was pretty flimsy, and all of my tires were coming unglued at that point. My rear end was cracking and slipping during the flips, so it was sub par.

Those pictures are awesome rcnitrohead! The General Lee looks great flying through the air as it was meant to do.
The General tried to take out the camera man but he still got great pictures:

Hopefully I'll have most of my parts in really soon so we can do it again. All you have to do is finish break in on the LRP
