Broken aluminum?
This is new to me ,so I thought I'd post it here.
This would help cracked engine plates ..or stripped INTEGY shocks.
This will also repair a cracked engine mount,or anything aluminum.
Check it out,simple to use.

RE: Broken aluminum?
That stuff is pretty expensive, but it would mean I could totally braze up my aluminum scale project if it works.
Crap all the ebay auctions for it are from GB..

RE: Broken aluminum?
Seems like it makes nice and strong joints, just I don't want to throw out $65 on 1lb of this stuff, thats the smallest quantity they have. Otherwise I'd actually try it, cause , my scaler car is will be all aluminum and was going to nut and bolt it- but this would make everything look cleaner and lighter without throwing out major cash on welding.

RE: Broken aluminum?
That stuff looks awsome but I have always thought that the problem with aluminum parts is the bending more so than the breaking. I don't use aluminum myself but if I did I would try that stuff out.

Thanks to the boys at scale4x4rc.org, they've found a cheaper source:
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=44810
Price is great, absolutely using this for my build.

RE: Broken aluminum?
I found out yesterday that aluminum doesnt always break it just bends.
I have integy shocks and shocktowers in my savage with a feigao 12xl.
The motor has so much torque on 6s it wheeled and flipped back with enough energy to form the aluminum to my chassis.
In other words your can see the edges on the tower bent about 55-60% without breaking.
And then i broke two shock shafts luckily i have spare shafts.
Are the shafts on the stock shocks stronger than the integy ones and will they fit.

RE: Broken aluminum?
^ It depends on the impact but aluminum will usually break, depending on the grade it is. Integy makes some of the softest aluminum that exists with their parts, so bending it with small force is not a rare occurrence by any means [8D]..
I'll be snapping up some of these rods off of ebay pretty soon, and finally starting to build the skeleton for my dang Camaro- this made my day!
