Default Anybody here running the $235 suspension conversion from HPI

I was wonding if any body has tried the suspension conversion from HPI. How is it holding up? Would you do it agian if you had the choice?

It would be cool if RPM came out with a True Track suspension conversion for the Savage like they have for the Tmaxx and Revo.

Here is a link to what I am talking about.

Unless you have an on-road racer, I would not even think about getting that. May as well get some new wheels/tires, shock oil, springs, and adjust the shocks.

I will look in to those aluminum rear hubs. That was the main reson I was looking at. I would like to get rid of the toe bars.

It makes the truck handle much better. Lowers the roll center, increases front caster, and increases steering throw. Worth it if you want your truck to handle well.

I am sure that they are talking about the integy tie rod eliminator kit! I think what they are trying to write is toe bars not tow bars. Because honestly my XL and my X are both missing a tow bar!

ahhh, gotcha. hmmm that sounds interesting, links to the eliminator? I've had my toe bars/turnbuckles pop off quite a few times in the rear. I know the remedy for that is to install a washer between the bolt and turnbuckle, but eliminating it all together would be better.

i run this kit on my carbon fiber race truck and on my flm extended race truck and its a huge difference in handling for a savage racer, bashing not really worth it as it does not help when you spend most of your time on the roof, but racing it would be in the top 3 up grades

Yea those are what I was talking about. The turnbuckles that you can adjust the rear tires toe in and out.

Can you buy parts for the kit. Say you wipe out and bend or break something. Can you buy that part or do you have to buy a whole nother kit?

What do you run for shocks. Did you switch over and run 4 big bores with one on each corner, 2 standard shocks on each side in the rear with single big bores in front, or 2 standard shocks on each side in the rear and one standard shock on each side in the front?

The last time I saw his truck he had four shocks in the rear and two in the front. It looked as though it sat great and seemed to handle just as well.

If you decide to go with big bores you can buy the flux ones pretty inexpensive on eBay. I run those shocks on my XL. Was thinking of getting a set on my X as well.

Well I just bought a pair of the Integy rear hub carriers. I will see how they do. Hopefully they fit nice. Most other Integy stuff I have tried sucked big time. 19 bucks is a lot better that 155 for the conversion. It does look sweet though. It is still being tossed back and fourth in my head.

[link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=7777715]This thread [/link] says that the hub carriers are one of the best parts. I was reading some stuff on them on this forum and it seems that they are the only part that holds up in the entire line of integy. So, you might have lucked out on this part.

Good luck and let us know how they are when you get them.
