LRP .30 or Picco .28 would be your best bet for wheelie engines. The longer your truck is the harder it is going to be to wheelie. I think you mean your truck started out as the standard Savage X and has been extended to the length of an XL. Is that what your talking about.

I agree with the Big dude and big shades.... You may have an extended LCG by one of many suppliers. If it is set up with the A arms low and a low center of gravity, along with soft suspension, your truck may be squatting instead of standing up. Grab a set of X plates and the rear drive dogbone and if you Mach is good, it will wheelie. You could just toss in the LRP 30 an 053 pipe, stiffen the suspension and it will wheelie.

I think this was my longest recorded wheelie..

Anoter shorter version....

The STS 30 was a pain in the butt, but it could rip off some nice wheelies!

The Picco 28 seems to break the tires loose and the wheel hop is hard to control. Glen

Yup, FLM EXT LCG. Thats why your having a bit of a hard time. You could just Lower the gearing (like a 15/49 or 13/52) and make sure your spur is set as tight as possible. Also having alloy clutch shoes will help allot.

I dont see the engine as a part of the problem, maybe the tuning is off and you dont have that low end punch but in general they are pretty good engines.

If you have a set of dirt bonz or similar, that will give it better grip and a lighter load to lift up front. Put extra spacers on the rear shocks, 2 on each, stiffer springs if you have them.
