Default another week, another idle gear. XL

yep thats right. after half a tank of running ive blown another idle gear.
this is the third one in a couple of weeks. replaced transmission bearing.
checked everything that i can. i dont know whats going on with it, or why this is happening.

not happy

hmmm...wheres that HPI warranty number?

thanks mate. will be getting onto them this week. is getting a bit ridiculous.
reckon il just buy a new trans in the mean time. start fresh.
see how we go.

smashed the drive gear to pieces plus the idle gear this time.
took a few lil chunks out of the spur gear tooth.

thats whats left of the drive gear and idle gear.

Anyone have any idea why this could be happening???

you got a bunch of duds, are you landing on power? that may do it, but usually the diffs go first it seems, unless you got the bullet proff onces...

nah im not. im usually on the brakes to bring the nose down in the air. thats if it runs long enough to send it over a jump.
no bullit proof gears either. could taking off to quick be doing it? i wouldnt have thought so. surely these things are made to handle a quick take off.

Bro I don't think it is the gears that trans case is out of alignment or the shafts are not straight or a bad bearing the gears are binding for some reason I would get a new trans I don't think you will any more problems after that [sm=shades_smile.gif]

yeah i will be getting one of ebay this week.
thats what i thought, start fresh with new trans
