Default Help! The exploding drive gear on 3 speed tranny

I'm reading online how many frustrated 3 speed savage owners are going back to their 2 speed trannys due to reliability issues, namely the final dive gear exploding when mated to more powerful engines such as the Picco .28. I've also come across others who have run into the same issue when mating their brushless set ups with the 3 speed. The results are ALL the same, the final drive gear and the idler gears explode. While the trannny wasn't designed to handle the power of today's brushless motors, this is clearly a weak spot for the 3 speed trannys. I run a picco .28 on my 3 speed savage, and am in pursuit of finding a solution to this problem (I've even contacted hpi, though I still haven't heard from them yet). Does anyone know of someone who has fabricated a stronger gear to rectify this issue? ALso, has anyone ever tried filling the gaps in the body of the drive gear with epoxy or jb to see how it might hold up? Others might simply go to a flux tranny or back to the two speed, but personally I can't get myself to go back to a 2 speed because the 3 speed is simply just too cool and one of the things that makes the Savage so unique. ANyhow, look forward to hearing from anyone who might have a solution.

I'm surprised Robinson Racing hasn't made a machined gear for this application I would buy one in a minute.
