savage xl problem

Default savage xl problem

i having problem with my savage xl,i just run i full tank and after shutting the engine and the radio off,i noticed that thers a resistance when a pull the truck on reverse,i know when you push or pull the truck its supposed to be no resistance,but mine is when you pulled it on reverse its like the brakes are applied,but i cheked the brakes.and its not it...what could be causing it[]

check the gears in your transmission.  mine was doing that also when I took it into the shop, they opened the tranny, guess what....gear was shattered.  Mine only has approximately 8 tanks through it.

I know you tried the brakes but try this before you start taking stuff apart. Turn the radio and the truck on but don't start the engine. Open the carb full throttle with the radio then try to push the truck. If there's no resistance then your brakes need adjusting. My truck has a slight resistance when I pull it back but it doesn't affect it when it's running.

i just found out whats causing the problem. the clutch shoe is hitting the CB so i need to put additional washer..
