my savage hit 152 in my old camaro and about 110 in my buuuuggggg XD
I've hit about 158 in my 2000 Camaro in stock-ish form. Heads and cam now with absolutly NOWHERE to open it up. My fastest speed was in the wide open desert of New Mexico 70 miles from any signs of life. No savage though. I laid off because I was starting to get nervous.. It CAN do it.. easily now.

I think Officer BudBud should cuff and stuff each and every one of you reckless law breaking speeders and throw away the key! Or worse...impound all your Savages!!!

Nothing ex-cop about me, still in it, my 26th year. I think one of my Savages hit a little over 200mph, in my buddy's airplane.....

Pretty cool. What year, make and model is your buddy's plane?

...around 170mph in a MH53J Pave Low III. And there were no stop lights or traffic to deal with, and if anything were to get in our way, we had 2 mini-guns and a .50 cal to make it disappear. Not to mention the personal firepower onboard. lol. Long live the Pave Lows.

I had a 94 T/A way back in the day (LT1/auto)...it was bone stock down to the paper air filter and it would bury the 155mph speedo. That was with only 275hp...needless to say, your Camaro has a bit more than 158mph in it. lol

149mph in my 04' Maxima. Only mods were an ECU and a CAI, so not much.

wait till budbud hears this, (for all who don't know he's an ex cop...)

uhh 65 or so totally legal :P

the lug
LOL, does he still have his peace officer's license? Without it, I doubt he can write you a ticket.

But I wonder if he still has his law enforcement-grade clocking devices? I would ask him to clock my RCs for me; all I have is a $65 Bushnell, which I doubt can be calibrated to be as accurate as police radars and laser clocking devices.

LOL, he would have to cuff himself before he could cuff any one of us! He probably has some of the fastest Savages in RCU; very few guys have the modded engines that budbud has in his RCs.

Totally aside from the point, but forget the pip-squeak Lycoming cheap-o engines, get a Rolls Ryoce Merlin!

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...yce_Merlin.jpg

Now that beautiful piece of machinery is what gave classic planes like the Spitfire and Mustang the ability to soar! (Well, most Mustangs had the American counterpart, Packard Merlin, but Packard built Merlins under appropriate trade licenses from Rolls.)

No land speed records, but water crossing distance I might have a contender. Virginia to ireland. Held a steady 30 knots for 8 days. . Did some sweet backflips on the flight deck of our ship. Always wanted to get on the JFK (aircraft carrier) and play on a full size flight deck but I don't think the admiral would have been cool with that.

You surely hit the fuel cutoff at that speed. GM "speed limits" all of their trucks.

I believe that's a rev limiter. In our Blazer it's 110. Only GM I had that wasn't governed was a 1993 Z34. I was racing a Mercedes in VA, of course the guy smoked me but I chased him for a good 20 miles and my car never shut off. It was tapped out and the needle was buried but the fuel was never shut off.

I think the fastest any of my rc vehicles ever went was traveling by Jet from Tower hobbies to PA, and then they slowed down to probably around 70 mph!!

I know a lot of people laugh when I say I think my 2002 sable would do around 135 mph ungoverned. Its the 3.0 dohc engine and it pulls like a freight train to 110 mph and nothing more plenty of motor and not even working at that speed.

My 93 escort gt would do around 127 mph though, but the tranny failed at 208000 thousand miles. A fantastic car for sure!!
