Do I use the paper trick to set the backlash between the clutch bell and spur gear?

And if it's a new spur always check the mesh around the whole thing by turning it after you set it and seeing if it gets looser or tighter. It might not be 100% round and you can have tight spots on other parts of the gear where you didn't set it with the paper.
