another wormy newb question please help!!!!!

well we finally took the xl out of service

the engine is acting as though the clutch is slipping and not putting power to the wheels.

other than the clutch what other areas should I check out?

I plan on pulling the engine to seal it so I may as well use the time to troubleshoot the problem while I am at it.

Any help would be great, and I would be very thankfull.

Check your spur gear see if it loose.

i suggest that you checkout the transmission box, see if the gears inside are in good condition or not, have a look at the spur.

also check the clutch shoes, are they too worn out?

Just check the drivetrain starting with the Clutch shoes and im sure you'll find the problem. After all if you're pulling the engine you could use that oppurtunity to check that.

If you're doing the motor, then you may as well just take a look at the diffs. Only 6 screws and 2 retainers to get the diff out. Make sure all the screws are there and put some loc-tite on metal to metal screws. I would also recommend putting some ball bearings in place of the plastic bushings in the steering posts. You probably won't notice a difference, but the bearings won't get worn out like the plastic bushings would.
