shipping restrictions

i was just gonna order from TOWERHOBBIES for a lot of parts and i found out that they no longer ship to Iceland, i do know that the restriction before was only for the E.U community and i was very please about it but now my country is included. There is one thing that i know that sooner or later i will no longer enjoy driving HPI products in the near future co'z in Iceland the prizes are at 200% and i would like to hear from pepz outside U.S.A of how do u fell about this?

I think i´ll be getting a lst,revo and definitely a 1/5 and 1/6 scale gas cars from FGmodelsport...................................... ....................,
dont be mad at me guys if ill be getting a revo, lst coz i pick this two of there ability of being a racer and a basher all in one/stock form.

I'm sorry to hear about the shipping trouble but I have a question. Is it true that Iceland is mostly green and Greenland is covered with ice?

estella I am in the same boat as you I was going to purchase from tower as well but recently they have included australia as well. I contacted them and they said it is to do with european distributor god knows how europe affects us down here but anyway that is the reason I was given. Downunder it is hard to find hpi in local hobby shop and online shops here are very expensive as well. I am lucky to be visiting relatives next month in US so going to buy while overthere and bring back myself.

you can order almost anything from towerhobbies but except for the hpi products and i see that your address is in kuwait, kuwait is affected too with this shipping restriction. The post says shipping restriction in hpiforum that means hpiproducts.

have you tried one of the UK based mail order stores:

modelsport-uk.com, apexmodels.com or http://www.microtechracing.com/ - the £ is pretty strong, but it might be cheaper than a 200% markup...

ur right about it,it was only a few countries that were on the list of all the restrictions and they even included philippines and its a poor country for crying out loud why in there world include those 3rd world countries. Crazy_cocnuts are you PINOY or what co´z i am and been here in Iceland for 15 years.

RE: shipping restrictions

Yup... i am. ive been in the UAE for the last 14 or 15 years though...

They sell HPI parts here, but they are too expensive. Imagine paying $50 for the ribbed pipe. *sigh*

estella 11-27-2004 09:53 AM

RE: shipping restrictions

the same here pipe for 50 to 60$ and the nitro star s-25(engine) is around 300+$

authomassen 11-29-2004 03:03 PM

RE: shipping restrictions

Well, now Tower won´t ship to Norway either, and to give you an idea of the price level here, the cheapest ribbed pipe i´ve found is $84... It´s almost like I´m wondering if i should change back to Traxxas?

HPI has asked us not to distribute their products outside of the US and
Canada. They would prefer that you find a local source for theirproducts.
We understand that this is an inconvenience for some of our customers
and regret that we are unable to supply you with HPI products at thistime.
We do carry a number of other off- and on-road racing vehicles and
accessories from other manufacturers and we would encourage you to take
a moment and consider these brands in your buying decision:

well that sucks ass.. i live in canada and its still way cheaper too order form tower.. most hobby shops up here don't carry alot of the items, i want to get a savage SS but they have to order it and would cost me $550 CDN, if i order from tower its only around $400 CDN.

Any idea why HPI is tripping out like this??

Oh yeah guys don't forget, one of the CHEAPEST place to get parts.... E BA Y.

RE: shipping restrictions

Think about it....if all of you are ordering from Tower because its cheaper.....HPI Europe is losing money. Its pretty simple to see why they did it from a corporate standpoint but on the consumer side I think its a horrible decision. Its not Tower's fault HPI wants to make more money but they'll suffer from it too.
