shipping restrictions
i was just gonna order from TOWERHOBBIES for a lot of parts and i found out that they no longer ship to Iceland, i do know that the restriction before was only for the E.U community and i was very please about it but now my country is included. There is one thing that i know that sooner or later i will no longer enjoy driving HPI products in the near future co'z in Iceland the prizes are at 200% and i would like to hear from pepz outside U.S.A of how do u fell about this?
I think i´ll be getting a lst, revo and definitely a 1/5 and 1/6 scale gas cars from FGmodelsport...................................... ...................., dont be mad at me guys if ill be getting a revo, lst coz i pick this two of there ability of being a racer and a basher all in one/stock form. |
RE: shipping restrictions
I'm sorry to hear about the shipping trouble but I have a question. Is it true that Iceland is mostly green and Greenland is covered with ice?
|
RE: shipping restrictions
estella I am in the same boat as you I was going to purchase from tower as well but recently they have included australia as well. I contacted them and they said it is to do with european distributor god knows how europe affects us down here but anyway that is the reason I was given. Downunder it is hard to find hpi in local hobby shop and online shops here are very expensive as well. I am lucky to be visiting relatives next month in US so going to buy while overthere and bring back myself.

RE: shipping restrictions
have you tried one of the UK based mail order stores:
modelsport-uk.com, apexmodels.com or http://www.microtechracing.com/ - the £ is pretty strong, but it might be cheaper than a 200% markup... |
RE: shipping restrictions
wow... thats annoying, United Arab Emirates was just added to the restriction... and same with the Philippines... i guess ill have to find another place to order from... when i first checked, there were only a few countries on the list...

RE: shipping restrictions
Yup... i am. ive been in the UAE for the last 14 or 15 years though...
They sell HPI parts here, but they are too expensive. Imagine paying $50 for the ribbed pipe. *sigh* |
RE: shipping restrictions
the same here pipe for 50 to 60$ and the nitro star s-25(engine) is around 300+$
|
RE: shipping restrictions
Well, now Tower won´t ship to Norway either, and to give you an idea of the price level here, the cheapest ribbed pipe i´ve found is $84... It´s almost like I´m wondering if i should change back to Traxxas?

RE: shipping restrictions
hey guys i emailed tower hobbies about this
as i live in australia i cant get any thing ether and all i have is a broken savage. tower said... oh bugger it ill just post the reply email. Thank you for writing Tower Hobbies. HPI has asked us not to distribute their products outside of the US and Canada. They would prefer that you find a local source for theirproducts. We understand that this is an inconvenience for some of our customers and regret that we are unable to supply you with HPI products at thistime. We do carry a number of other off- and on-road racing vehicles and accessories from other manufacturers and we would encourage you to take a moment and consider these brands in your buying decision: DuraTrax http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0002p.pgm?M=DTX Kyosho http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0002p.pgm?M=KYO Ofna http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0002p.pgm?M=OFN ProLine http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0002p.pgm?M=PRO Tamiya http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0002p.pgm?M=TAM Traxxas http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0002p.pgm?M=TRA Trinity http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0002p.pgm?M=TRI Feel free to contact HPI directly and comment on their decision:HPI 70 ICON STREETFOOTHILL RANCH, CA 92610PHONE: 01-949-753-1099 WORLD WIDE WEB: http://www.hpiracing.com/ Thank you for writing Tower Hobbies. RE: shipping restrictions
well that sucks ass.. i live in canada and its still way cheaper too order form tower.. most hobby shops up here don't carry alot of the items, i want to get a savage SS but they have to order it and would cost me $550 CDN, if i order from tower its only around $400 CDN.

RE: shipping restrictions
Any idea why HPI is tripping out like this??
Oh yeah guys don't forget, one of the CHEAPEST place to get parts.... E BA Y. |
RE: shipping restrictions
Think about it....if all of you are ordering from Tower because its cheaper.....HPI Europe is losing money. Its pretty simple to see why they did it from a corporate standpoint but on the consumer side I think its a horrible decision. Its not Tower's fault HPI wants to make more money but they'll suffer from it too.
