Help a Newbie

I know this is a really stupid question, but here goes. I just bought a savage 25, and i noticed that i have a ton of extra antena. I've run it through the plasticantena rod that sticks up through the truck, but now i don't know what to do with the rest of the antena. Please help me.

the savage comes with a lot of antenna. do not cut it that would hurt your reception. you just have to pull only as much as you need out and coil up the rest underneath in the radio compartment.

yea- well how far does your truck go before you lose signal? radio says a 1/4 mile. mine will go close to that, I tested it on an open street. I'll bet yours wont go that far now.

yea i was running my savage, and it was like 30 degrees, so i broke the antenna tube in like 3 places:D. then i flipped the truck off a jump, and it slid on its roof, and just sheared off about a foot of antenna [:@]. so now i used some fuel tubeing as an antenna tube :D and my truck usually isent very far from me, so i havent had any glitches yet.
