Advice needed for HPI Savage 21
Hi. I am extremely new to RC nitro cars so please excuse my inexperience!
I recently was given an HPI Savage 21 Nitro car which to begin with has a few problems. The first time I started the car the gear meshing between the spur gear and bell clutch (I think that is what they are called) was incorrect, leading to the spur gear's teeth being stripped. I have since replaced this.
The area that I wanted advice on is when I turn the car over. The car is a rotor start, however when doing so the part circled in red in the attached picture stops for around 0.5 seconds, springs back the opposite direction slightly and then continues spinning from turning it over. Is this normal?
When I cover the exhaust and turn it over to prime the engine no fuel moves through the fuel line into the carburettor, could this be due to it not turning over correctly? I can't get the car started, however I think this may be due to the fact that the incorrect glow plug has been screwed in.
I appreciate that I have asked a lot of questions, and without seeing the car they are probably very hard to answer accurately, however any suggestions would help as I am completely in the dark with this kind of thing.
Thanks in advance
