Default AeroFly Professional Deluxe for MAC Help

HI All,

I am having problems with AFPD for Mac and Iam very frustrated. Mostly because the sim looks great and the moments that it has work have been great.

So here is the story, sorry for the length of it.

I ordered Aerofly from Sussex model center in the UK . I am using a spek. dx6 with the correct Y-adapter. I the software loaded just fine and at first it was working fine for maybe a day or so then it just stopped and the error said AF could not find the USB interface. I am running the the mac version on a Imac with this set up:
Hardware Overview:

Model Name: iMac
Model Identifier: iMac8,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 3.06 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 6 MB
Memory: 4 GB
Bus Speed: 1.07 GHz

At that stage I sent out this tread: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_98...tm.htm#9869148, and i read the reply.

I feel really stuck, I have spent a lot of money of a peace of software I really want to use.

Will the software work with a different USB interface?

How can i get one quickly ?

Can anyone help me out?

Thanks so much Rob

Rob, which Mac OS X operating system are you using? What type of video card? Did you install the latest patch for AFPD mac?

Default RE: AeroFly Professional Deluxe for MAC Help

Hi,

I am running OS 10.6.4, and the videocard is NVIDIA Geforce 8800 GS (512MB).

The version of AF installed is 1.11.07.31

In a prior tread regarding this it was suggested that the version of AFPD I received from Sussex Models is an older one (this was indentifed by the look of the USB interface) and this version is not natively compatible to Mac. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Hi cruzer, according to Ikarus, the usb interface cable you have is the correct version and should have no problems with Mac AFPD. Could you do the following test:

Plug in your usb interface cable
Click the Blue Apple in the top left corner.
Click About This Mac .
Click More Info... .
Under Contents on the left side click USB .
Under the USB Device Tree on the right side, tell me what vendor_id and product_id numbers you see displayed.

Are you connecting the usb interface to a usb hub? What other usb devices you have connected to the computer? Has the driver for your video card being updated?

Default RE: AeroFly Professional Deluxe for MAC Help

No, I am not conecting the interface to a hub. I have a Wester Digital HD pluged into a usb port and the mac keyboard into a usb at the rear of the IMAC, that is it for usb devices. I have the Mac plug into a enternet cable for the web.

I have tried all usb ports and have removed the HD and have tried to boot the CPU up with the interface pluged in. All of this, but unfotunatly none of this has not provided a positive result.

In regards to the video card, acording to Apple there are not updates for this video card. I have installed all software updates using Software Updater.

Thanks
