Problem pairing Aerofly 5.7 with Spektrum DX-7s
I am having problems getting Aerofly 5.7.1.5 to see my DX-7s. I have the exact cable set up shown in the picture posted by rajul in other threads.
I noted the need to set the transmitter to PPM mode but i believe that is the default from the trainer outlet.
I am using an iMac running OS 10.8.5
Mahalo for the help.
Aloha….Ray

Hi Mike.
I purchased it from iFlyTallies.com
I bought it with the game commander originally then purchased the cable, y-adaptor and dongle from them last month.
The package it came in

You need to plug in both the GC and the dummy usb interface into separate usb ports in your computer. The GC contains a security code to enable Aerofly5. Please plug in both the GC and radio before starting Aerofly5.
You should disable the trainer mode. Although the DX7 radio is DSM (not PCM or PPM), the signal from the trainer port is tapped before any modulation is applied and is PPM compatible, and therefore works with AF5. There is nothing to set in the radio, but an AF5 JR stereo-to-mono adapter cable is required. Leave the DX7 switched off before plugging in the adapter cable. The radio will automatically switch on when the adapter cable is plugged into the radio. The radio will not work with AF5 if it is manually switched on before inserting the adapter cable.
Please refer to the attached diagram on the usb cable connections.

Congrats and well done!
As a beginner, I would recommend the video from http://www.rcflightschool.com/
You will also benefit greatly from http://www.geistware.com/rcmodeling/index.htm
Aerofly will bring you from a novice to a good pilot relatively quickly if you put in some time everyday. Once you get into IMAC and 3D aerobatics, that's when you will really appreciate Aerofly! Enjoy!

A big mahalo to you Mike.
I'm very excited about this new journey. Used to be a CL flyer in my youth but this is a whole different world.
Will definitely check out those sites.
