Photo field scenery downloaded (Vettre) dark
I've downloaded two photorealistic scenes (Vettre, Tragonesse) and converted all the .jpg files to .bmp with Adobe Photoshop. The scenes load but they are very dark, like you are flying at dusk. Anyone else have this problem? BTW I did change the config file as recommended in the instructions (from 512 to 1024). I wonder if this is a glitch from me using Photoshop versus ACDSee. Thanks!

In Deluxe, its a great program! Dion, is there any way you could convert the scenes to .bmp and post those? Would they be too big?

Did you read the comments about the scenerys from Rodeo?
Do not install any AFP Photo scenes in Deluxe. These scenes were just beta and will not look good.
They are working on AFP Deluxe photo scenes right now. Wait for the ones that are developed for AFP Deluxe.
There are plenty of scenes to keep you flying for now!!!

Rodeo? The poster was Roar Kristensen, and this was on Aeroflypro.com download/scenery section. Thanks for the tip, I'll not load any scenery until I see them specifically listed for Deluxe!

This post.

There is a slight issue for a few AFP planes for Deluxe and the scenes for AFP to AFP Deluxe.
The developers are working to adapt all AFP planes and scenes for Deluxe. It's not really a bug, it's just a simple change here and there.

Wow that worked! Just made these changes: From Rodeo's post........
"If you copy an AFP-scenery to AFPD, it will show up very dark.
Who switched the light off?
Reason: Ipacs changed the lighting section in the GEO files.
Solution:
Open a GEO file from AFPD, for example farmland.geo.
Copy these lines:
LIGHT_POSITION 0 0.20 -0.40 1.00 0
LIGHT_AMBIENT 0 0.55 0.55 0.55
LIGHT_DIFFUSE 0 1.00 1.00 1.00
LIGHT_SPECULAR 0 1.00 1.00 1.00
Open the AFP scenery GEO file.
Replace these lines by the lines above:
LIGHTAMBIENT 0.80 0.80 0.80
LIGHT1AMBIENT 0.00 0.00 0.00
LIGHT1DIFFUSE 1.00 1.00 1.00
LIGHT1SPECULAR 0.70 0.70 0.70
LIGHT1DIRECTIONTHETA 45
LIGHT1DIRECTIONPHI 245
LIGHT2AMBIENT 0.00 0.00 0.00
LIGHT2DIFFUSE 0.50 0.50 0.50
LIGHT2SPECULAR 0.50 0.50 0.50
LIGHT2DIRECTIONTHETA 15
LIGHT2DIRECTIONPHI 0
That's all, rather easy to move a scenery from AFP to AFPD. "
Thanks Dion!

RE: Photo field scenery downloaded (Vettre) dark
Hey RC Hobby,
You CAN get the downlaoded photo sceneries to work too... you know the ones coming in real dark like nightime?
Open the *_fein.obj located in the scenery named directory.. in other words if the scenery is called Vettre, go into the scenery\Vettre directory and open the Vettre_fein.obj file in Wordpad.
Search and replace all the:
ambient 1.00 1.00 1.00
and change to:
ambient 100.00 100.00 100.00
This will make all the scenery images full brightness and make it look normal.
You still have to copy and paste the info you mentioned in the GEO file to light up the plane correctly too.
I am in the process of converting the Reflex sceneries (for my own personal use of course)... and have successfully done one...
Ed P... you cn open the OBJ files with wordpad.
