Default AFPD sound bug, is their a fix on the way?

I like many others have the sound issue w/AFPD. If I have my speakers set for 5.1 suround mode their is no engine noise in the sim. Each time I run AFPD I have to manually go to "start-control panel-sounds and audio devices-advanced-speaker setup" and select "desktop stereo speakers" to get engine sound. The engine sounds will only come from my 2 rear speakers, the front 2 and center speakers are all silent.
Other than that the sim appears to be flawless!!

Is their a fix for this on the way?

PC specs:

asus p4p800
p4 3.0
1 gig ram
9800pro
audigy2
logitech 5.1 speakers

I have the same problem and placed it on the ipacs forum, and I´m sorry to tell you but they haven`t found a way to solve this problem, and for what they let me know is not their biggest interest right now, so we will see if they come up with a patch..... i think you should logg in their site and make some pressure on them to work on that, lets make our money worth!

IPACS is aware of it ... just set to stereo mode for the time being.

Oh I am sure they are aware of it, just curious if its ever going to be fixed?

Oh and for what its worth those of you with this problem it helps if you goto the control panel and right click on "sounds and audio devices" and then make it into a desktop shortcut which can be placed next to your AFPD icon.

IPACS is aware of it ... just set to stereo mode for the time being.
