Default AEROFLY PRO GRAPHICS CARDS

I RECENTLY PURCHASED AEROFLY PRO (NOT DELUXE) & WITH MY PRESENT VIDEO CARD I CAN ONLY FLY CERTAIN PLANES & USE
VERY FEW LOCATIONS. I WOULD LIKE TO UPDATE MY VIDEO CARD . FIRST OF ALL HOW DO I KNOW IF A CARD IS
OPEN GL COMPATIBLE. I HAVE DETERMINED THAT MY COMPUTER REQUIRES A PCI CARD. OF THE FOLLOWING CARDS, IS ANY OR
ALL OF THEM SATISFACTORY TO RUN AEROFLY.
D10-2005: DIAMOND STEALTH S80 RADEON 9200SE 128 MB DDR / PCI / VGA / DVI / TV OUT VIDEO CARD
TC3H: NVIDIA GEFORCE FX 5200 / 128 MB DDR / PCI / DVI / TV OUT VIDEO CARD
P450 - 8501 XFX GEFORCE FX5200 / 128 MB DDR / PCI / VGA / TV OUT VIDEO CARD
I HAVE WINDOWS XP HOME & MY COMPUTER MEETS ALL OF THE OTHER AEROFLY REQUIREMENTS
WOULD YOU RECOMMEND ONE OF THESE BOARDS OVER THE OTHERS?

THANKS R BLACK

Find a ATI Raedon 9800 XT. That's your best bet.

ARE YOU TELLING ME THAT NONE OF THE THREE CARDS I LISTED WILL WORK.
I'M NOT LOOKING FOR THE BEST CARD , JUST ONE THAT WILL RUN THE NON DELUXE
AEROFLY PRO PROPERLY.

I am using a 6600GT video card, AGP version. It works good for me and < $200. There are PCI express versions of the card that are a few bucks cheaper than the AGP version. I don't have any experience with the cards you mentioned - sorry.

RBLACK,
Here is a list of recommended cards from Aerofly's website, I do not believe that the other posters do not realize that you
are limited to the PCI bus and cannot use either the AGP or PCI-E(PCI Express) video cards as your computer does
not have those slots in them.

Recommended Graphic cards
Nvidia GeForce3 and GeForce 4
Nvidia GeForce FX series (5200 - 5900)
Nvidia GeForce 6xxx series
Nvidia GeForce 4Go / FX Go / Go 6800
ATI Radeon 9xxx series
ATI Radeon X-series (X700, X-800)
ATI Radeon Mobility 9xxx series

If you notice all three of the cards you mention are there and will run the program.
I would go for the Biggest bang for the buck and try and get one of these cards with as
much on board ram as you can afford.
Here are a couple of links to a web dealer I have dealt with before.
http://www.mwave.com/mwave/viewspec....iteria=3473789
http://www.pricewatch.com/
I would try and get a true ATI card as I have heard that they perform better than some of the
manufactures that use the specs from ATI.
It is more of a personal prefrence or what you can afford in determining what you purchase.

John, I have had the same problem with a dell computer and graphics cards. I bought a Maddog fx5500 128mb vdt pci card from www.microcenter.com and installed it in my dell. Works great with aerofly pro. not the delux version. Hope this helps. Spoiler-man

Captinjohn,
I get the same message after re-installing Aerofly (it used to work fine). That link takes me to the same page we are on. Where is page 56? What's the fix? Thanks, Jim

Disregard. I had to re-install the drivers that came with the Radeon 9800 Pro.
Works fine....catch ya later!
