Default AFPD not running right

My AFPD is not running as it should. The sound is terrible (all airplanes sound the same) and the spool up on all the planes is pretty slow. I also noticed that the surfaces take about 1/2 second to deflect. If I push down elev really fast you notice the delay. I upgraded to the newest (1 8 0 17) they have on the site and I also calibrated my controler. Is there something maybe in setings I need to change? I changed the hardware acceleration to "None" as I saw on one of these posts but it didn't seem to change anything. I know it didn't run the same on somebody else's computer. My setup:

Pentium 2.4
512 MB Ram
Nvidia GeForce4 420 Go

I don't know. "Properties" of the device doesn't seem to give me that info.

that may not be your problem. The first thing you should do is completely unistall AFPD then turn off your computer and leave it for about 5 minutes at the least then try again. I've heard that this sometimes works.

I did a google for that card and in some cases it's only 32 MB and no Open GL.

Gotta find your video card specs. There are several variations of your card.

It's true it's only 32mb but it does support Open GL. The MB should not be a problem because if it runs out it uses RAM and I have plenty of that. Plus the graphics are perfectly fine. It looks good without any notice of performance problems.

how many FPS are you getting? do you have another computer you can try it on?

what sound card do you have? have you updated your video card drivers?

minimum requirements for AFPD is 64 mb card. most cards say they work off your computers ram ... but most don't. you need direct bus from the video card.
