Want this plane made?
recently on another forum i read a thread about giant scale pylon racers. I know there's the Ballerina, but i was thinking of modelling a 42% giant scale pylon racer.
it is a GR-7 Formula 1 racer, all composite, modeled off a full scale.
here are some pics, let me know if you guys want it.

Not for AFPD?
I always wonder about what you really do Rick. You design all these planes and they just never show up anywhere.

RE: Want this plane made?
Just wondering why you'd go through hte trouble of producing hte planes and hoping they launch the addon.
Can't you output your wireframe for AFPD?
There are never enought planes for AFPD until all planes are available for AFPD.

RE: Want this plane made?
Its not a big deal to model planes only takes a few hours of spare time, sometimes less and I enjoy doing it actually. The time consuming part (for me) would be the painting/texturing of the model and I am not doing that untill they release the exporter. We were told that we would have the exporter "by the end of this week BTW". My plans were to have a dozen or so models 'ready for takeoff' so to speak so that I could focus on other things like flight characteristics etc when the exporter comes out.
All my attempts at exporting planes modeled in either Max or Cad have failed BTW -the mesh just gets screwed up everytime. It would seem to me that the only way to make planes for AFPD would be to use Metasequia (sp?) and I dont like Meta. All I ever find are badly translated tutorials that I cant much sense of.

RE: Want this plane made?
I understand. Those models look real nice. Meta is popular in Germany I guess cause of the price. I know Max is a sweet prog and can make some damn nice looking planes. Just wondering how they will fly, specially the 3D stuff. Might have to send you the CADS for an OMP plane just to see if G3 can handle such a plane. They may be able to fool some noobs but not my customers.
Have the G3 support team purposely not asked you to create 3d planes? I do see the foamy, but I mean some real 3D performers.

RE: Want this plane made?
Naw the G3 support team doesn't care what we make And Max can make anything real sweetnot just planes. Any chance of gettin the AFPD guys to support .max files? Or even .gmax (the free version)??
These models were made using Max (not by me) awesome stuff[X(]

RE: Want this plane made?
Madsurfer...remember, the plane doesnt have to be (and shouldnt be) one piece, not sure how the game will handle crash breakups, but i can guarantee if it does, they will need to be seperate models...just model the joint like it was an rc model...and needed to be able to remove it...
Im going to start work on a Venture 60 tomorrow
