RE: GREAT NEWS for AFPD
An IPACS developed expansion package with 8 additional models and 6 new landscapes.
(4 Photo and 2 3D)
Including the newest update for all Aerofly Professional Deluxe on version 1.9.1.1.
This is not an upgrade or new version.

RE: GREAT NEWS for AFPD
So why does it say you get 8 models and 6 sceneries on the german page and on the US page it says you get 5 photographic sceneries and 12 models[sm=confused.gif]???
I wish they had done a multiplayer rather than the models and the sceneries[&:][&o]!
Are there any fixes or anything else???

RE: GREAT NEWS for AFPD
what's the point? there's many more downloads and sceneries on RC-SIM.de
is there anything different in 1.9.1.1 ?
26 bucks for the same you could get for a free download seems like a rip to me

RE: GREAT NEWS for AFPD
Hi,
we had yesterday a small catalog of the german distributor of AFPD in one RC-magazine with four pages about the new addon. There were alot of screenshots.
I must say that the new sceneries look very well. Better than any user-made. The new models are of high quality too.
Alone the szeneries legitimate the price I would say.
On the picture you could see the following sceneries:
- a very good looking airfield with grass and asphalt runway
- a really nice looking indoor scenery
- and a real airfield with big asphalt runways.
I am looking forward what the other 3 sceneries will be.
The new models I could identify are the following:
- Aztec (Scale-2-Mot)
- Diamond DA-42 (Scale-2-Mot)
- Diamond DA-40 (Scale-1-Mot)
- Super Constellation (Scale-4-Mot)
- Zero (Scale-Warbird)
- DC-3 (Scale-2-Mot)
- Viper 90 (RC-Heli)
- Agusta Westland A109 (Scale-Heli)
In addition they have put my Monsoon and SlowRide (each in normal + 4D) as 'user-models' on the disk (of course with my permission). I think this is basically for new customers of AFPD to have already some more indoor models out of the box...
One new function is that models now can have more than one smoker (yeah!). We now can have real wingtip smokers! [8D]

RE: GREAT NEWS for AFPD
Hi,
I have seen one picture with 4 smokers on a model. Don't know if this is the max number or not.
It is said that there are two new 3D-sceneries. But I haven't seen them yet.

RE: GREAT NEWS for AFPD
you pay because the scenery are collision detection.........maybe is that why ipacs or ikarus did not do a collision detection tool.......
and they sell collision detection scenery
the free pano scenery are not collision detection...... and collision detection is a must.....

RE: GREAT NEWS for AFPD
Franky,
your assumptions are wrong:
Publication of this CD has nothing to do with scenery detection tool.
They don't act as you said, not publishing this tool but selling a CD.
The collision tool will be available when it's finished.
And in fact there are several free sceneries with mapped collision objects, like:
Jefferson Proving Ground, Scheveningen indoor hall, Spelle, Heliteam, Hechingen_Winter. I didn't check the entire scenery list, but surely there are some more.

RE: GREAT NEWS for AFPD
ty Rodeo to your acurate answer.......i anderstand a bit more but it is very long too do a tool ipacs answer me ( i still have the e-mail) in march or april!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
have a nice day
here are our discussion copy paste it: there are 3;
1:hello francois,
could you please write in a more straight manner,
what the exact problem is?
converting a panorama scenery from another
product won't work. this probably won't be
supported in the future.
however we will publish new sceneries and we
also try to create a workshop so people can
build their own sceneries. we will post details
on our website.
regards,
t. hans

own panoramic photo sceneries for AFPD. however i don't know
yet if it works. i keep you updated.

3:i know what you are talking about. again, we are working on
a tool where you can add collision detection to a panorama
picture. we don't need your special tool for this.
if you are talking about cpano.exe, i have coded that tool anyway.

RE: GREAT NEWS for AFPD
There has been talk for several months for the collision detection in scenery's and they are working on it. In the mean time there are a bunch of other crash object scenes ready to go now like Rodeo said. You too can make these if you are advanced AFPD modeler.
We went through the same thing a while back about making your own scenes from AFPD. Then you saw CPANO appear.
Now they ARE working on the tool to create crash objects easier and when they are done it will be released. This is much more complex then CPANO obviously. These free tools for AFPD help create more sales for the simulator so you know they want to release it.

RE: GREAT NEWS for AFPD
Hi franky,
I really cannot understand your oppinion.
Please allways keep in mind that IPACS are 'just' two persons. In a very rough and compressed view, they do the further development of AFPD, adding new functions, fixing bugs, building new models, building new sceneries, doing strategic development for futur versions and so on...
I personally have build a few sceneries with collision detection and I can tell you that you need alone for one single scenery one or two months to have it functional. The update now contains 4 pano-sceneeries, so you just have to spend almost half a year only for that (if you consider that over a year there are not allways best conditions to take panorama photos)!
The the new models. They are all of very high quality. This takes also very long! I am currently working on a 18.000 Polygon model of almost the quality the IPACS models have. I already spent 2 full months on it and it's still not finished.
I personally have abolutely no idea how you got the impression that something completely new such as a collision detection tool can be implemented in just that short time, you personally expect it to be developed! This is simply unrealistic!
And beside of all that, I believe that the tool is not a priority 1 thing. So they are working on it just when they have some time left (from the other jobs)...
This is just MY opinion...
Cheers!

RE: GREAT NEWS for AFPD
2 months to make a model? Thats friggin crazy[X(] I made a model today (single sitting) and it's completely done and flying in G3, tommorow I will have another one finished (B52 bomber). Why is it so hard to make stuff for AFPD?

RE: GREAT NEWS for AFPD
Oh come on Rick, G3 finally gets user made planes and now AFPD is the old schooler?
So now lets just talk about physics for the two and talk about the "why doesn't's" regarding G3.

RE: GREAT NEWS for AFPD
Seems odd G3 users were stuck buying "add-ons" to get new planes and scenery and AFPD guys got theirs free. Now G3 guys getting their planes and scenery free and AFPD guys getting excited about having to buy "add-ons" I like the physics of both sims STL, but ultimately I want to be able to do it ALL (fly, multiplay, create planes, create schemes, panos w/collision) and know I can do it ALL w/G3. I tried to be able to do all those things w/AFPD but failed[]

RE: GREAT NEWS for AFPD
I understand.
Personally I just want a simulator that has the best simulation, not fluff to lure me in. If any other simulator ever comes a close 2nd to AFPD I will be more then happy to sell that simulator, even G3. But personally I want to my OMP customers to the have same feel on the sim as they would at the field with our OMP planes. If they want a good game I'd lead them elsewhere. The customers who purchase airplanes from OMP trust us to sell them nothing but the best and we do.
Name of the this forum and the program is simulator, thus this is what I sell.
