RE: AFPD and Windows Vista
It really doesn't work on windows vista, I recently installed vista and the program can not run anymore, it's urgent to get an update for the incompatibility issues

RE: AFPD and Windows Vista
AFPD runs on Vista perfectly....I've been running it for a few weeks. The biggest problem I had was finding an OpenGL compatible video card driver that works reliably on Vista.
Give the HW mfgs some time to release drivers....by the time Vista goes GA, this shouldn't be an issue anymore.

RE: AFPD and Windows Vista
it's actually running on my laptop...which has an nVidia Quadro 110M video card in it. I ended up using one of the 200 series Quadro Vista beta drivers with it because the 110 drivers aren't done yet.

RE: AFPD and Windows Vista
I just loaded AFPD on a Vista system and everything works except for the 1.8.0.25 patch. I had installed this patch to get the 4D planes to work in XP. The 4D planes will not work in Vista and the patch won't load.

RE: AFPD and Windows Vista
Well I tried loading the patch on Vista twice and still get the same error message.
"The package was unable to replace the following
Files:C:\ProgramFiles\IPACS\AeroflyProfessionalDel uxe\afprod.exe
Everything else seems to work OK. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

RE: AFPD and Windows Vista
That was the ticket! It worked fine doing it that way. Now maybe you can help me with one other thing. The computer I have this on is not on the internet. So when I download planes I save them on CDs and download from there. How do you download the zipped files from a CD?
Thanks for all your help. Thats why I am glad I bought this simulator.

benph, here's a guide for installing models http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5241496/tm.htm You could copy the downloaded file from your CD to your desktop and work from there

RE: AFPD and Windows Vista
To those who made AFPD work, did you use Vista Home Basic or Vista Premium?
Trying to install AFPnondeluxe and getting "OpenGL drivers missing" warning.
Aerofly is initialising, it loads the scenery, loads the plane and then tries to find the interface (problem #2). When I download the patch 1.6.8.6 and run Aerofly I get a black screen and a line of unreadable characters.
I've got Vista UAC: off
My graphics card: ATI 1300Pro
Thanks.
Rheal.

RE: AFPD and Windows Vista
The serial interface cable (from radio) is connected to a Keyspan HS USB serial adapter. So, it is DB9 to USB.
Yes, it is AFP non deluxe.
It worked fine on an IBM laptop with Windows XP. Now I'm trying to install on a Dell with Windows Vista Home Basic. You would think that OpenGL drivers would be installed.
Thanks.

RE: AFPD and Windows Vista
AFPD is working perfect for me, Vista Home, Nvidia7300 and then with a sapphire ATIx1950xt, both worked good. (Dell XPS410, 2.13 Intel core duo)
the ATI driver is a bit new (catilist7.2) and probably still buggy, im expecting catilist 7.3 will be out soon and fix most issues.
If you have an ATI card DO NOT USE the pre loaded Vista driver, Vista kept trying to load that driver (1900series driver) and with it 2D worked great but 3D would not.
uninstall that driver, DL the latest from ATI and install the new driver.. also i had some problems with the catilist controls so i reinstalled the driver only.
for the AFPD i just installed the main disk then the 1.8 update and that's it
