Default AFP vs. DX7

I just received my DX7 and today I tried hooking it up to my AFP. I can`t seem to get it to work. I plugged in my DX7, it comes on automatically, but it doesn`t seem to see it in the calibrations screen. What am I doing wrong? Is there something on the DX7 that I have to set, or is it just an AFP setting?

Thanks in advance.
Dave

Hi Dave, did you connect a JR adapter between the DX7 and the usb interface?

rajul- I went straight from the 9 pin interface cable directely to my TX.

STLPilot- I don`t think the DX7 has PPm mode since it uses spektrum technology.

Dave, what you need is a JR stereo-to-mono adapter to work with the DX7. You'll have to get the y-adapter from Ikarus USA http://www.ikarus-modellbau.de/onlin...ca088.63839801 or the one from FXA http://www.fxaeromodels.com/product_...3394b887d3efa7 Put the DX7 into airplane mode, and switch it off. The Tx should turn on automatically when you plug in the JR adapter, and disable the RF transmission.

Thanks Mike, I`ll try one of the adapters. Is there a way to upgrade to AFPD with the full cost of just buying the whole new program?

Thanks, Dave

Default RE: AFP vs. DX7

Hi All,

Sorry to revive an old post, but I can't seem to find additional information.

I have a DX7 along with both EasyFlight3 and AFPD. In both versions, if I set my model to ACRO (airplane), I can fly with no hassles (barring the ability to engage idle-ups). If I set the model to HELI (along with my wicked setups for 3D flight), no matter what I try, as I increase throttle, the heli will yaw to either side uncontrollably and crash.

My question is, can you use AFPD with a JR Spektrum DX7 in HELI mode or can you only use ACRO mode ? If so, I guess I've wasted a lot of money thus far.

Thanks
Doug
