RE: slope and ds glider sceneri for AFPD?
Hello Frode,
There are many good soaring sceneries for Aerofly now. If you not up to Version 9.7.11 yet look at the Pointe Du Van slope at www.rc-sim.de set wing at 78.0 degrees. It is suitable for F3F racing as it's a powerful slope. I have yet to find a good site for DSing. The seiser-alm site that comes with the Star Flight Addon almost has the right shape slope but I have had no luck with DSing. The barometric pressure may be to high in Aerofly to DS, I don't know. High velocity air seems to recover very quickly although Aerofly reproduces slope turbulence very well.
Many of the newer slope sceneries need version 1.9. Nebelhorn and Pointe Du Van are two that work with 1.8 very well.
I'll let you know if I find a good DSing site for AFPD.
Pat

RE: slope and ds glider sceneri for AFPD?
Thanx,
Just got home from 14 hours at work know, so I will try to innstal the Pointe Du Van slope tomorrow.
do You know how I can check out my current version of AFPD?
I downloaded the Vettore slope from rc-sim.de yesterday, but that sceneri was a bit strange because the plane impacted when coming down too the elevation of my viewing position...
I have tried the Realflight 3 and there its a ok flyable slope in the included scenereies, but not for ds.

Hi,
Vettore is for AFPD 1.9, you need this version to get the correct slope ground.
Dynamic Soaring is absolutely great!!!
This works only in AFPD versions 1.8.x.x, it's currently not possible with AFPD 1.9.x.x!
If you have AFPD 1.9 installed and if are an experienced PC user, you may follow this description:
1. Open Windows Explorer and rename your AFPD directory, e.g.
c:\program files\ipacs\aerofly professional deluxe --->
c:\program files\ipacs\aerofly professional deluxe 1.9
2. Insert your AFPD-CD and run install or repair.
It will create another AFPD version at
c:\program files\ipacs\aerofly professional deluxe
You may also load the actual patch 1.8.0.25.
DO NOT load the addon 1, starflight, or any 1.9 patch!!!
Now you have 2 different AFPD versions on your system.
You may create a desktop link to both afprod.exe in the 2 different directories.
3. Download this scenery
http://www.mfv-marbach.ch/Berichte/a...pd_oberegg.htm
Attention: Since description is in german, run the afpdjtof.exe in the scenery directory to unpack the files.
You may adjust the .GEO file with WORDPAD and add this line.
START_POSITION 2 -2 -1 135 0 0 1.73
This places your glider with nose up the slope. It's not necessary, but comfortable to directly take off this way.
4. Download this model from www.ipacs-sim.com
CalypsoContest by Lego

Attention: You must be registered to download.
Actually, it works with most gliders, but this is a good one, esp. when you increase weight.
5. Run the AFPD 1.8 version with this model and scenery,
Wind direction: South (180). From behind, strange for 'normal' slope flyers.
Wind speed: 70-100%
Have fun, it's absolutely great to get a glider speed above 120 mph!!!
6. See an example video from AFPD dynamic soaring:
