Default AFP crashing on WinXP, computer restarting

I've had AeroFly Pro (not deluxe) running on desktop machine with no problems but now need to move to a laptop. Installed the main program followed by update disc then the latest patch. It runs for a something between 2 and 10 minutes then computer shuts down with no warning. When restarting I get a message that the system has recovered from a serious error with a prompt to send a log of the error to Microsoft.

The machine is a Lenovo 3000 C100 0761 1.86Ghz Pentium mobile with 1Gb RAM running Windows XP home.
I updated video driver (Intel mobile 915GM/GMS, 910GL) but no change.
Tried running in Windows 98 compatibility mode, still the same.
After doing a bit of searching on the internet I installed Microsoft Debugging Tools and used debugwiz to analyze the error logs created when the error occurs. This indicated one possible cause as file ALCXWDM.SYS. Further searching revealed that this was connected with the Realtek AC'97 audio driver so got the latest update for that and installed. This also made no difference so looks like it is not the culprit.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times making sure that installation and patches are loaded in the correct order but am now getting to the point where frustration has led me to seek advice from this forum.

Hi Kirky, your video card is not openGL compatible and will not work with AFP. You will need at least a 32MB openGL 3D video card such as the ones listed here http://www.aerofly.com/www/requirements.html Does your laptop have a built-in 9-pin serial port?

Why not consider upgrading your AFP to AFPD and enjoy improved physics, photorealistic sceneries, and a host of other features? http://www.ikarus-modellbau.de/onlin...43d22.84275286

Thanks for your quick reply.

In answer to your question my laptop does not have a built in serial port, I am using a USB to RS232 adapter.

The link to system requirements is for AFPD but I assume the same applies to the non deluxe version.

As I am using this on a laptop it is not possible to drop in another video card so guess I am not going to be able to use Aerofly if the video is not compatible. Also if Deluxe also needs a different video card then upgrading is not an option either.
