Default problem with "old style" AFPD USB interface cable

Mike,

I received the replacement "old style" USB interface cable that is supposed to work with my JR 12x transmitter today. Unfortunately, I receive the following message when I plug in the USB connector:

"One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it."

I tried this with several of the USB ports with the same result. I also tried plugging it into the JR transmitter (both with/without the mono adapter) and starting AFPD. It also does not see the device.

What's next?

Gary

Hi Gary, pls plug in the interface cable into a usb port. Then in windows, pls go to Start...Control Panel....Game controllers and tell me what is displayed in the box?

Also, pls remove other usb devices from your system such as joystick, etc which may cause a usb conflict

I removed other USB devices and then plugged in the cable. There is nothing displayed under game controllers.

Hi Gary, could you send me, or post here, a photo of the usb interface that HL sent you? Are you connecting the usb cable directly to a usb port in your PC, or though a usb hub?

Also, pls post the tm.log file which you can find in the following directory

C:\Program Files\IPACS\AeroFly Professional Deluxe

You may open the file with a text editor like word or notepad. Just copy and paste the entire content into your post here.

Mike,

I'm connecting directly to a USB port (I've tried 3 different ones). Here's the log file:

Default RE: problem with "old style" AFPD USB interface cable

Hi Gary, could you plug the usb interface into a different PC (no need to install AFPD), and check in the Game Controllers if there is anything displayed? You should see "Ikarus Interface". Thanks

Hi Gary, I will have to get HL to send you another one immediately. Could have been a mixup. Thanks for your patience once again.

Hi, I have similar problems with the interface cable - even though my PC recognizes it as 'easyFly2 interface'.. Could that be it, a mix up....?? [&:]

Thanks.
