Default APP CRASH ..?

Hi all, having probs installing afpd......... keep getting appcrash and vista closes the program...

ive had afpd for over a year now and have never had probs with it before, ive had it running on vista before with x2 nvidia 8800gt sli, the only thing i have changed is now im running x2 ati 4870 crossfire which leads me to believe this is the problem but just cant work out why ?
i have latest 8.8 ccc drivers and of course open gl is enabled.

ive installed afpd and cannot go no further with patches and addons, i have cleaned all ipacs related registry files and tried time again and same probs every time...APPCRASH

any ideas anyone ?? I NEED MY AFPD !! [sm=cry_smile.gif][sm=cry_smile.gif][sm=drowning.gif]

Hi nick,

1) Tell me exactly what kind of hardware you have, especially 3D graphics card, CPU, and any other hardware installed, sound card etc.
2) What is the RAM size?
3) Which operating system are you using, XP or Vista? 32 bit or 64 bit?
4) Tell me exactly what drivers you installed for the 3D graphics card.
5) Which addons do you have?
6) What is the version number printed on your main AFPD disk?
7) How did you install the main disk, addons, and patch (which version?), and what was the sequence of installation?
8) Post your tm.log file which you can find in the following directory

C:\Program Files\IPACS\AeroFly Professional Deluxe

You may open the file with a text editor like word or notepad. Just copy and paste the entire content into your post.

Nick, pls install patch 1.9.7.11 http://www.ipacs.de/download/afpd190711.exe

Also pls check the following:

-It may be a problem with the graphic card driver. Update your driver and see if the problem goes away. You also need to ensure that your graphics card hardware acceleration is at maximum.
-It could also be an overheating problem in the computer or card incompatibilities. Ensure your computer is properly vented.
-The problem may also be the sound card driver. Update your driver and see if the problem goes away.

hi rajul, ive tried all patches in different sequences and still no go, my drivers are the latest although i may try previos version 8.7 , as stated im running two graphics cards (crossfire) cant get more accelerated than that, computer is water cooled with x2 240 mm case fans system temp is 22c and envioroment temp is 25c, no problems there and sound drivers are latest from realtek.

just cant work it out, tough one eh...

may disable the second graphics card and try that, could be a compatabillty problem with crossfire ?? although it ran fine when i had x2 nvidia cards running sli

Hi nick, you must install in the correct sequence i.e. main disk....addon....patch If you had installed diffenrent patches in different sequences, then I'm afraid you will have to unisntall and reinstall. The uninstallation instructions are at the bottom of this page http://www.aerofly.com/www/downloads.html

yeah have done all in the right config, sorry i must have mislead you with " all different sequences" what i meant is ive tried installing just the disk and get appcrash, so ive then installed addon 1 and still appcrash so i then installed 1.9.7.11 and still get appcrash then ive even tried the latest patch and still the same thing, ive uninstalled, rebooted cleaned registry etc etc and tried fresh and still same thing.

Did you delete the AFPD folder before reinstalling as per the instructions? I have to check on your card compatibility and get back to you later.

afpd doesnt like the latest ati drivers 8.8

i installed 8.7 version and hey presto, patched to 1.11.7.19 and its running sweet hitting between 500-1100 fps
