Default replacing the USB controller with a Spektrum??

Hi all,

I've got the USB version of AFPD but would like to use my new Spektrum 7 radio with it. I ordered the adapter thinking it would connect from the S7-the computer but duhhhh..... it's just an adapter. Obviously I need a cable with a USB end, what should I buy??

TIA,

Steve

Hi Raul,

I'm on the road for work, so I can't post a photo, sorry.

I have the USB flight box included with the sim (IK1002 ) I bought a couple years ago, and the AFP02 (Aerofly PRO Deluxe Adapter for JR & Spektrum Transmitters) I purchased online last week through Hobby Lobby. So I need something to go from the adapter to the USB port on my computer

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve, I understand now. What you have is the Game Commander version. To use you Spektrum radio, what you will need are the following:

1) USB slave cable IK3036002
2) JR/Spektrum adapter AFP-02 (you already have this)

You can find the items at the bottom of this page http://www.hobby-lobby.com/aerofly-pro.htm

You will need to plug in the GC into a usb slot, and then plug in the slave cable in another usb slot. The adapter goes between your Spektrum radio and the slave cable. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks Raul. Do I need to have the GC? The other reason I'm replacing it with the S7 is that I've knocked it off my desk a few times and it's starting to go bad. I'd like to keep my desktop clutter to as little as possible, I sure don't want to knock my s7 off!!!

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve, yes the GC is absolutely needed. This is because there is a built-in security code inside the GC. If you're concerned about desktop clutter, you could just plug the GC in and hide it somewhere behind or under the table. But it still needs to be plugged in so that AFPD finds the code.
