Default Cable problems

Good morning,

I picked up the Aerofly Deluxe package with this cable setup. I've had no luck using my Futaba 7C tx. I am able to get it to semi work using a G3 Realflight controller. (everything works except throttle). What is my best option to be able to use my 7C Tx? Thanks afor any help.

Jon, did you set your radio to PPM mode? When you plug in the adapter cable into the 7C (radio turned off), does the radio turn on automatically? What is the version number printed on the disk? Did you install any patch? Thanks

Try this. Turn on the radio manually using the main switch (pls remove your radio module or crystal first), then plug in the adapter cable before you activate AFPD

Pls check if you disabled the trainer mode in the radio. Also pls ensure that the connectors between the usb cable and adapter cable, and also between the adapter cable and radio, are completely pushed in.

Which addons did you install?

Trainer is on inh. I notice that my trainer switch on the Tx is sticking. I'll try and borrow another 7C radio and do more checking. I'll keep you updated. Thanks again for the help so far. I'm sure I'll be back

Added Add one is all.

Patch installed still no go. I also tried powering radio first and than Aerofly still no go. The latest patch is showing up on the screen installed.

Try removing the crystals and switch on manually.

Also, pls check that in the controls menu, you selected transmitter instead of joystick for aircraft 1

Tried all the above still a no go. Crystals were already removed, power on Tx, Controls menu is Transmitter Aircraft One.

No Tx detected.

Hmmm, then it could only mean two things - a wiring connection problem or an incompatibility issue with 7c. To eliminate the wiring issue, you could try to borrow a different type of Futaba radio from a friend e.g. 9c and see if that works.

I'll work on the borrowing a radio idea. Thanks for all the help so far. As far as wiring goes, what is the connection points we are looking for in the radio thru the trainer port?

Do you have a multimeter? You could probe the connections in the Futaba adapter you have. Since the adapter worked with your G3 controller, I would say that it is in good condition.

Yes I do have a multimeter. What specific readings am I looking for?

I also did some searching on the 7C trainer port.

I'll be checking the to see if my 7C has the throttle timer bug tonite also.

Once again thanks for all the help.

Just to confirm, did you use the same adapter with the G3 controller?

Thanks for the confirmation. The adapter is good. Hopefully, you can get hold of the Futaba radio soon.

There seem to be some incompatibility with 7C. Pls try another Futaba radio e.g. 9C for confirmation.

Well I was able this weekend to try my cable with a good working Spektrum adapter with a DX7 and it was a no go. A buddy brought his adpater only over along with his radio he had been using on his Aerofly. And we were not able to get it to work. I believe its in the dongle?
