I have a 14mz 2.4 and to use it with AFPD, I have to select PPM mode through the software.

hanks but iI have only got 2.4ghz module and cannot select ppm as it is not an option as I don't have a module for ppm/ pcm, and with no module installed it doesn't give me a choice for ppm

Try setting it up in trainer mode. Perhaps in this way you'll get a PPM output.
