RE: Aerofly 5 preview!
If anyone else is interested in buying a second hand copy of Aerofly professional deluxe then upgrading to Aerofly 5 this is how much it cost me ...
£40 for a second hand copy of Aerofly professional deluxe
£116 for the Upgrade to Aerofly 5 (including shipping to the UK)
£156 is a bit cheaper than £220 for a new full version

RE: Aerofly 5 preview!
Any clues as to the system requirements for the Mac version of Aerofly 5? I can not seem to find anything but the requirements for the Windows version. Perhaps they won't release them until March as well. I have a freshly unboxed Mac Mini 2.26Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB ram, and a Nvidia GeForce 9400M graphics card 256 MB Vram. I would wait for the March release date for the new version if I knew it would work with my system. I suppose I would be curious to know if AFPD would work with my system. Thanks for supporting the fruit and penguin segments of the computer world.

RE: Aerofly 5 preview!
One of the captions about Aerofly 5 on their web page says "All new flight physics", and I saw your comments about the Aerofly 5 flight physics in Post 36.
I used AFPD for a while, but switched to FS One, which has great flight physics for practicing advanced aerobatics. However, since FS One is no longer supported, I am on the lookout for an equally realistic simulator. I am hoping that Aerofly 5 will stand out in this area compared to the other simulator choices. I would appreciate any feedback about the flight realism of Aerofly 5 for advanced aerobatics.

Just got info that the English manual is available now. So, you could order directly from Ikarus Germany. I have no info on when Hobbico is going to get them on their shelves, but I will provide an update as soon as I can.

Yes, there is a language option in AF5.

Theres a big difference in price for the USB version vs the Upgrade. If I have AFPD I gather all I need to buy is the upgrade since I have the USB dongle?

RE: Aerofly 5 preview!
Hey rajul, I would guess that it is WAY too late to offer up my system for beta testing (nudge, nudge, wink, wink...) on Aerofly 5 for Mac. I am only mostly joking about this one. At least I would know if it would work or not with my system. I would probably not be seen as a good tester in any case. OTOH, I don't really mind supporting a company that writes good software for the Mac, I just can not really afford (or justify, for that matter) both versions. If the release date of AF 5 was six months from now or if it would definitely not run on my system, it would be no question. Get AFPD now and have 6 months worth of fun and practice, but one month...... (Be patient, he whispers to himself, under his breath.....)

RE: Aerofly 5 preview!
I just talked to Great Planes in Champaign, IL about the Aerofly 5 Mac upgrade and the gal had no knowledge of the upgrade and she will be talking to her product manager and buyer to get a status. I am hoping the Great Planes Distributor will order it. I remember when I purchased my Aerofly for the Mac the only place that was selling it was from the Sussex Model Centre in England. I sure hope I do not have to go through the hassle of ordering it through England again. Sussex were great guys to deal with but I had to order it at 1:00AM in the morning. Rajul I am using my DX7 with my simulator. I have a question will the patch 5 work fine with my existing Aerofly cables? Thanks let me know if you have that info.
