Aerofly 5 Upgrade Crashes - OS X
Hi,
I have installed the aerofly 5 upgrade (aerofly professional Deluxe Platinum Edition already installed - and working) according to the instructions given with the software. When I start aerofly 5 the startup screen appears for a while and then crashes. The output of tm.log is provided as an attachment (tm.txt).
I've noticed from the tm.log that the program is requesting many files with traditional extensions like ".bmp" or ".tif" while the contents of my directories have extensions like ".ttx". Seems it's not loading some files because of the wrong extension ? Don't know if that helps.

Hi,
1) Tell me exactly what kind of hardware you have, especially 3D graphics card, CPU, and any other hardware installed, sound card etc.
2) What is the RAM size?
3) Which operating system are you using?
4) What is the version number printed on your main AF5 disk?
5) How did you install the main disk and patch?
6) Please post a photo of the usb interface or gamecommander you're using
Thanks

RE: Aerofly 5 Upgrade Crashes - OS X
Sorry I thought the key info was included in the attached tm.log file ...
1) Mac Pro 2008/2x2.8GHz Intel Xeon Quad/ 16GB RAM/ GeForce 8800GT - 512MB/ dual 1920x1200 monitors
2) 16GB
3) OS X 10.6.3
4) Version 5.0.3.5
5) Disk installed exactly according to the instructions AFAIK (dragged disk 1 DMG and disk 2 DMG onto desktop, double clicked on "AeroFly_5.0.3.5.dmg", dragged AeroFly 5 folder to dektop, removed old DMG files, opened AeroFly folder and double clicked on icon - starts up, seems to be trying to load data, then crashes). There was no patch for the OS X version I could find (only an *exe for Windows).

No, I did not notice any error messages during the copying of the dmg files or the installation. I have tried reinstalling numerous times to see if that made any difference but no luck I'm afraid.

RE: Aerofly 5 Upgrade Crashes - OS X
My hard drive is formatted with the Mac OS Extended (Case-sensitive, Journaled) filesystem.
Just out of interest, assuming this problem can't be resolved, what is the policy on refunds from ikarus ?

Could you check whether these files exist in your AF5 folder
'scenery/us-bennetfield/spot_landing.png'
'objects/helpers/helperline_color.tif'
'scenery/us-bennetfield/spot_landing_onesided.png'
'objects/helpers/helperline_color.tif'
'scenery/us-bennetfield/spot_landing_circle.png'
Thanks. Let's try to get this thing to work first

Looking at my AFPD installation (as opposed to Aerofly 5) gives the following results -
Could you check whether these files exist in your AFPD folder
'scenery/us-bennetfield/spot_landing.png' - us-bennetfield does not exist in my AFPD scenery folder
'objects/helpers/helperline_color.tif' - there is no helpers subdirectory in my AFPD objects directory
'scenery/us-bennetfield/spot_landing_onesided.png' -us-bennetfield does not exist in my AFPD scenery folder
'objects/helpers/helperline_color.tif' -there is no helpers subdirectory in my AFPD objects directory
'scenery/us-bennetfield/spot_landing_circle.png' -us-bennetfield does not exist in my AFPD scenery folder
'scenery/us-bennetfield/spot_landing.png' - us-bennetfield does not exist in my AFPD scenery folder

RE: Aerofly 5 Upgrade Crashes - OS X
Examining the Aerofly 5 folder produces the following -
Taking the scenery/us-bennetfield folder as an example there are files with the same name but different extensions e.g. spot_landing_circle.ttx rather than png.
'scenery/us-bennetfield/spot_landing.png' - no such file
'objects/helpers/helperline_color.tif' - no such file
'scenery/us-bennetfield/spot_landing_onesided.png' -no such file
'objects/helpers/helperline_color.tif' -no such file
'scenery/us-bennetfield/spot_landing_circle.png' -no such file
'objects/helpers/helperline_color.tif' - no such file
'scenery/us-bennetfield/spot_landing_onesided.png' -no such file
'objects/helpers/helperline_color.tif' -no such file
'scenery/us-bennetfield/spot_landing_circle.png' -no such file
