APC 20x10 prop for Moki 2.10
Hey has anybody tried the APC 20x10 or 20x10W props on the Moki 2.1 for aerobatics. I have the engine in the GP Patty Wagstaff Extra 300 and was wondering which one was best for IMAC manuevers.

Yea! I know what you mean. My 210 is still new so all I am getting is 6500 with a Zinger Pro 20/10. I would love to see 7500 on any 20 inch prop.
By the way did you solve your baffle problem?
I was following your tread and added the deflection baffles on a fully cowled 180. Seams to work fine.

APC 20x10 prop for Moki 2.10
I am running a Menz S 20x10, 10% Omega castor/synthetic blend, OS F type plug and I've run two gallons through so far. This is my first experience with Moki but I here 5 gallons before the engine is fully broken in. Rpm is 6660 leaned for flight (6860 peaked) and static thrust was just under 20 lbs. This engine hauls Patty around pretty good at 14.5 lbs! Locals tell me the hot prop for IMAC is the 20x10 APC and should get about 7200 peak and 25 lbs of thrust. I'm a long way from those numbers right now. I'm assuming the 20x10 is the narrow chord standard version not the wide blade job but I haven't tried either yet.

APC 20x10 prop for Moki 2.10
Just checked in at www.rcfaq.com and the APC 20x10 is turning 7500 and the Mejzlik 20x10 is hitting 7600. No mention of fuel type or whether these are peaked numbers or ready for flight.
I've got to try both these guys!

I am using 0% nitro, 15% oil, Cooper Custom Moki fuel. So far all I have is two gallions through the 210. Like they say it does just keep getting stronger. I am running the Moki very rich, slow break in. I have been using the no nitro fule for a couple of years now, I have two 180's and the 180's are both stronger than the 210, at least for today that is. I expect to get an honest reading on the 210 in about a another two gallions.
What burns me is in the review published in Model Airplane News they were getting 26 lbs of pull after 47 minutes of break in time.
Don't know how they do it.

Yea, I read that report as well. I think Clarence Lee is a pretty sharp engine man so I trust his figures. If I remember correctly, he was getting about 21 lbs of thrust on a 20x10 Zinger after only 30 minutes of break in time and the distributor claimed 25 lbs on a Moki prop. I am not complaining about the engine performance at all and I believe it will just keep getting better with time. I have not tried FAI fuel yet, it is difficult to find around here. 5% is available and I might try that, I've heard the 2.1 doesn't respond well to high nitro content but idle and throttle response are improved. One area I was concerned with was fuel draw, alot of folks on this forum complained about hte engine going lean towards the end of a flight and the answer was a Cline fuel regulator. I used the K.I.S.S. principle and went with oversize fuel line and drilled my tank clunk out to match and the engine runs perfectly consistent throughout the flight.

I use the Cline on all my Moki's. Since I scratch build I can put the fuel tank closer or direct on the CG. With the Cline it's never a problem, constant fuel draw at any attitude. Also I don't concern myself with a too high or too low fuel tank, I could even put a tank in the back and the fuel flow would still be there.

I must agree. The moki 2.10 is a great running engine. It idles slow, transitions well and always starts on the 1st or 2nd flip. I will wait and se what happens after this gallon is through it.
